Question Guide for RTX 4070 Ti / 4080/ 4090

I am planning to a build a PC ideally with a RTX 4080. However, I see some of the good rated cards ie Asus ROG Strix / MSI Suprim X are priced very near to cheaper 4090 Cards of Zotac, Gigabyte etc. Should one buy cheaper card of a better series or better card of a lower series ?
In case of the 4080, really not sure; if I should go for a EAGLE OC or Zotac AMP Airo and save around 15-20% on the Asus Strix.
Also, can the below link be considered a genuine grading for the GPUs ?

Unless there is not a widely reported problem with a specific card always get the cheaper model of the next tier. A Palit RTX 4090 will outperform an RTX 4080 ASUS Strix. Also if we speak about the same tier cards the ASUS STRIX will be maybe 2-3% faster than the cheaper models so i still wouldnt pay the price. Personally , for the same reason so far i only owned cheap models from Gigabyte , Palit , Gainward and never had a problem.

In my personal experience, MSI generally has the best coolers in the business. Asus and Gigabyte are tied for second.

That's really up to each individual.
Personal take: I sure as heck wouldn't buy Strix or similar, but I wouldn't buy the cheapest either. You get what you pay for, sometimes applies, sometimes it doesn't, and you land a gem for a bargain. It's not bloody consistent though, argh...

I've seen thumbnails on my homepage, but have never viewed a single one... interesting.
I'd consider the grading flawed, as no single reviewer has tested every card per product tier. Even between Techpowerup and Kitguru, the testing conditions aren't the same, and that muddies things.

Gigabyte Gaming is fine to me. I've been using a Gigabyte Gaming 1080Ti since it launched...

My previous card was a Gibabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC and it was a solid card. The eagle version is the most budget version of the Gigabyte cards. If you can afford the Gaming one then go for it.
