When I boot up my PC, the PC freezes abruptly and the HDD light on the PC tower is solid red. Even if I try to boot into Windows Installer USB, the PC freezes sometimes at "starting windows", or sometimes when it does go into the installer, it freezes randomly. It doesn't even respond to mouse and keyboard. Have to restart to make it work again but then again I get stuck with the same problem.

Intel Core 2 Duo E7500
4GB Ram
No dedicated GPU is installed

sorry for my poor grammar. Any help is appreciated 🙂

replace cmos battery
check if something like ubuntu live is running
check memory check HDD for errors
-I will replace cmos battery thanks
-ubuntu live is running but after using it for some time it freezes (like even the cursor doesn't move) even if I try unplugging the mouse and replugging it the light of the mouse is not illuminating. The hdd was unplugged so idk what caused this problem.
-I did a memory check before booting into linux and it showed no error

RED HARD DRIVE LIGHT ON PC TOWER IS OFF AND PC FROZE

Hi,
I am trying to install Windows 7 on my PC and it freezes abruptly at any point. The red hard drive light on PC tower blinks as it should. but as soon as the PC freezes, the red light stops blinking and the it does not respond to mouse and keyboard. Even when I re-plug the mouse, the mouse light stops and have to force shutdown/restart my PC and I encounter the same problem.

I tried Live USB Linux but even after booting into Linux, the PC freezes and have to force shutdown to make it work.

I have 3 HDDs each of which I tried individually and encounter same problem.
I also tried memory test before booting into live Linux and it showed "no errors".
Tried without USB dongles, pen drives, peripherals but still I encounter the same problem.

Right now idk if it's the hard drive or psu, I did change the PSU a few days ago and dk what to do.

Any help is appreciated ^_^
