Question Has anyone ever had any issues installing Windows 11 from a USB bought direct from the Microsoft Store?

No, as stated in your other thread.

What you are really buying is a license. With a valid license, you can download yourself and install.

If this bought USB has been on the shelf for a bit, it may not be the most up to date version. Windows Update will take care of that.

Or, you can get the latest when you download yourself.

Thanks, I think I will get that as I’d rather have a physical copy (for recovery/reinstallation if it’s ever required). Plus it will obviously also come with a product key in the box so that works well with me.

If you were to do a reinstall a year from now, you'd have to create a new USB anyway.
The one you get today will be pretty obsolete. It will work, but would incur a years worth of updates to go through.

Ok, I’ve just discovered that I won’t actually require a Windows licence as my old one can be transferred. I am therefore thinking of installing Windows via the media creation tool.
You use the media creation tool to 'create' your own USB.

For the rest of the install, this:

Cool, thanks. I do already know that the MCT uses your own USB.
