Hello everyone, I'm piecing together a new comp and was wondering what would be an excellent heatsink for my system as I will be overclocking. Asus pt6 Deluxe v2, 300g VelocioRaptor hd, Evga Gtx 295, 6g corsair dominator, 1000w corsair psu. Also if anyone has suggestions about what im putting into the system im all ears. Trying to stick around the $2000 mark.

You mean, with or without the additional $10 bracket for Core i7?

Or, you could just buy a Core i7 cooler to begin with.

I bet they're manufactured by the same ODM. They have the same construction method, use the same AMD clip, and (MOST importantly) both have the same unrealistic level of noise rating.

I'm not allowed to say that noise rating is a lie, what I can say is that if you move the meter farther away from the noise you get a lower reading.

I agree with Crashman,

Most of all computer parts are practically made in Taiwan, there's almost no difference from China to Taiwan. Crashman is defintely right.

Rosewill is a division of Newegg in Taiwan

It's possible that some portions of one cooler are a knockoff of the other or worse, that both are a knockoff of a third, but the fan noise ratings are both around 10db lower than what most people would call "reality" upon listening.

Here's another sink that saves the OP $10 because he doesn't have to pay for an additional bracket:

Oh, and I've tested that one too, it's fairly powerful and has an excellent cooling-to-noise ratio.

BTW, I've avoided Xigmatek recommendations, even though it's a good cooler, because I haven't test fit it on many motherboards. I know it hits the Northbridge sink of several motherboards, I simply don't have a list.

That too is a good cooler. You'll see a review of it, versus one of the mentioned air coolers, in a few days.
