I've had this issue for about half a year now and I can not find any fixes online whatsoever. My issue is when I right click my audio button that's next to the time in the bottom right then click "open volume mixer" adjusting the sliders for applications has no effect on the applications at all nor does the mute button on the volume mixer. I've tried seemingly everything to fix this issue and have had no results. So I am posting here as a last ditch effort. I used to rely on volume mixer heavily and it has been pretty incontinent without it. Any help is appreciated.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include all audio devices and connections.

Have you tried running the built-in Windows and Audio troubleshooters?

Have you tried using "dism" and "sfc /scannow" to find and fix possibly corrupted files?

= = = =

Another possibility is the physical audio connections being used: specifically TS, TRS, TRRS.

FYI:

There may be some mismatch regarding devices, cables, and ports.

Especially if you made some changes "about half a year" ago.
