Ok just installed my new mobo (abit kr7a-raid), cpu (1600+ xp), and HD but now my farking floppy drive won't read. It shows the floppy drive as working ok under the windows device manager but won't work whatsoever. I really need it to be fixed asap but is there anything that might be causing this? Thanks for the help.

Double check and make sure you have floppy cable on new board with pin 1 in right place. I make that mistake once and won't forget that one.

Yeah.
Possible reverse the cable, on my FD there isn't any mark for the pin 1 so it's just trying.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground 😱 .

Yeah it's enabled in the BIOS and no I haven't overclocked yet 😉 I also checked the cable and having it in the right spot because I did the same thing with my HD earlier hehe... Also sorta hard to do since it has a clip on it.

Is your floppy light burning continuously after you started the system. If so the cable will be attached wrong although it has a clip.

Check the power cable. Make sure that if it's an extension of some kind that the extensions are plugged in right.

Also make sure the pins on the drive aren't bent.

Try swapping the power cable for another one (should have at least two with floppy connectors in there).

If I can't see it in the viewfinder, it doesn't exist.
