can anyone please tell me why my celeron 1.1 128k overheats whenever I run the Modem on hold program?
system temperature rises from 90 fahrenheit to 125 fahrenheit with the click of a mouse enabling the program.
I have serious cooling and no other game, application or device will cause this problem. its a creative labs 5633 modem and they are stumped too.
any comment would be appreciated

It is a win modem. Which does almost nothing itself. All work is done by the cpu. So When you initialize it it automatically loads the cpu. Winmodems are horrible.

If you can afford it buy yourself a real moden with hardwarw capabilities not software capabilities.

I aint signing nothing!!!

Try running prime 95 for a while. If doing that don't make your temps go really high then there is really something wrong with that modem... Get rid of it.

Don't confuse Winmodem and Soft modem.
