I installed sp2 last Friday but before I did, I tried to back up my documents
and settings but it failed. I guess I had a brain fart because I could have
burned them which backup would not allow me to do. I decided that I've never
lost anything before so I installed sp2. Then, I could not load any of my
programs; I think it is because I have McAfee personal firewall. So, I
restarted the computer. After umpteen tries to re-boot my computer, I had to
do a clean install. I lost everything🙁

I am still installing my programs. Windows automatic update is on my
toolbar with the sp2 update. How do I get rid of it?

I feel your grief.....
SP2 downloaded an update (automatically) over the weekend. Since then, my
computor is stuch running service "svchost.exe" and maybe after two hours the
desktop loads. The service never lets go using 100% of the CPU. I've tried
everything to stop the process, even uninstalling SP2 with no luck. I'm
still looking to uninstall before I resort to a clean wipe of the drives.
I heard a rumor the SP2 has an issue the Microsoft has now identified that
is causing this but has no resolution to date other than reinstall.

Ill be watching this chain for solutions...good luck.
