....so I benchmarked the 4.11's and 4.12's on my own machine(XP2100+/R9800) just because I had some time.
Utilizing the benchmark capabilities of FRAPS, I decided that I would try using ATi's Ruby demo(for it's extensive DX9 shader usage) and Doom 3(because it's OpenGL, and I still play it)
Driver control panel was set to <i>application</i> for AA/AF, mip detail set to <i>quality</i>, and AI turned off.
I ran each demo 3 times for warm up before I hit the benchmark button, and I am confident that things were equal.
Here are the average framerates...
Cat4.11: Ruby demo = <b>16.669</b> Doom 3 = <b>41.528</b>
Cat4.12: Ruby demo = <b>16.607</b> Doom 3 = <b>42.135</b>
.....so much for that :tongue:
I have now decided that benchmarking is too much work, and my time would have been better spent masturbating.
