Ive been looking for gpus to choose for a while now, although im not really sure which one to pick, the first one that looked interesting was the rtx 3060 (My budget is ~£300) Although ive seen the rtx 4060 for a similar price, but that has less vram and i ive heard mixed opinions on if its better than the 3060 or not. Also i practically know nothing about current day amd gpus so im not really sure what the equivalent would be compared to the 30 and 4060, another question i would have is if its worth buying a used gpu on ebay or something similar and possibly try to go for a somewhat higher end gpu

As Dark Lord notes, the specific PSU is needed. It's basically the *most* important component in your PC for this question.

At "Corsair 600W" you have the very good Corsair SF 600s PSUs, the Corsair GS 600 which was decent but is well over a decade old at this point, and a bunch of CX/VS variants that are either old, inappropriate, or usually, both. And if you have something like an old CX 600, if it's still running with your current GPU, it's still not a good idea; it probably shouldn't have been running with an R9 380 either, or anything that requires supplementary power.

Sorry i dont know if this is a dumb question or not but how would i go about checking what psu i have specifically?

The shortest answer to your question is the 4060. Extra VRAM doesn't help the 3060, it's still slower. The 4060 also only draws 115w.

The only thing that's better is the 7700XT but it's almost £400.
Actually, i forgot the RX 6750XT. That has better performance but for the same price. Thank you @Zerk2012 for the link.

Everything else is worse than the 4060.
Cheapest one is £265, but i would rather have the cheapest triple fan model for £280.

I'd go with Sparkle Intel Arc A380. It's a decent workhorse. Here's a guide if you're newer.
