I recently got a new gpu and decided to delete my old gpu drivers and I installed my new one and it didn’t work so I put my old one back in and now I’m stuck on bios and it WILL not go into windows at all when I turn it on it goes straight to bios my pc worked fine before I uninstalled the gpu drivers please I really need help I hope it’s a small issue.

Delete? Sounds like you unistalled more than just vid drivers. Drivers get loaded when windows boots, not when you press the power button. Uninstall maybe? The new GPU should work just fine without drivers. Windows will load its own drivers.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, used, refurbished)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

Attached peripherals?

Any system beep codes or diagnostic LED's ?

= = = =

Will the system boot into safe mode?

Do you have: 1) the motherboard's User Guide/Manual and 2) the GPU's User Guide/Manual?

Double check the current installation and configuration settings. Ensure that all is as it should be per the documentation. Pay close attention to all fine print, notes, and warnings.

Hopefully the problem is indeed a simple error of omission or commision.

Go into the actual bios (on most mobos it's either F2 or del) and disable the boot up logo so that it can tell you what's stopping it from booting into windows.
Take a pic with your smartphone of what the PC is showing and upload it on imgurl or wherever you want and link it here so we can see what you see.

If you go straight to the BIOS without a sign of Windows trying to load or repair itself it's because the motherboard doesn't see any Windows installation. It usually happens when the system drive is no longer detected. Do you still see the drive as a boot option in the BIOS?

That’s the only boot option I see

Hey, I have a problem where my pc goes straight into bios and doesn’t go into windows at all after deleting my drivers for the gpu with a ddu software and after I deleted it with the software and put in my new gpu it just boots me into the bios every time I turn it on and I put in my old gpu back in and still couldn’t get it to boot up

What are the complete specs for this system (make/model of each component)?

What was the make/model of the original GPU as well?

I suggest resetting the BIOS to its default settings in order to have a known baseline to troubleshoot from.

There is a chance that you dislodged something (like your storage device, i.e. SSD and/or HDD) while swapping GPUs. Double check those connections.

I used a software called ddu to uninstall my drivers for my old gpu I got. And I put my new one in all it would do is go straight to the bios and nothing more. Then I put in my old gpu to see if that was the problem it’s still went to the bios every single time. I tried to reset the CMOS and still nothing. I did put into safe mode before any uninstalling was done

Pc specs- i5-4790k, mobo z97 pro gamer, gpu RX 580, PSU- EVGA 650w

I’ve been stuck for about a week now and I really need help and stressin.

update the BIOS to the latest version and try again

is you HDD still connected and detected by the BIOS?
all cables still in place? maybe while swapping the GPU, something got out of its place
Yes all cables are in place and it says boot priority as p1: WDC so I’m pretty sure it’s saying that it’s detecting it

just to check if it boots with a different drive
you can use a USB windows install stick as well, if you want

while you get into BIOS, does any of your Q LEDs on the motherboard light up?
There are 4. DRAM, CPU, VGA (GPU) and BOOT Device.

press F8 while the ASUS logo is there and chose the windows boot partition

No none of the LEDs light up when I’m in bios. and as of right now I’m pretty broke and can’t get a usb window install stick but should that be something I should look into when I get paid. I’ve already tried pressing f8 and choose a boot option it jus sends me straight into the bios again

most likely windows will not be detected and won´t boot, that´s why you are stuck in BIOS.

load optimized settings in bios, save&exit

you can try changing the CSM compatible settings to UEFI or the other ones and check again, save&exit

Is your hard drive connected to an sata port?

Yes the hard drive is connected to a sata port

yes the drive is connected to a sata port and I will try the ueif tomorrow I gotta go to bed I got work but if it’s not that do you have anymore suggestions

UEFI can be a bit tricky, you will have to find the correct settings used before you resetted the BIOS to successfully boot again.

probably windows installation stick can repair windows boot

you can download directly from microsoft the windows media creation file, then it can prepare an usb flash drive to boot from and repair the windows on the HDD in your system.
