I have around £2800 and planning to use it generally for gaming some 3D modelling, Photoshop and general video editing software. Aiming to try and lower the price more than anything. Might wait for a 4080 price decrease before final purchase. I'm trying to have some that'll keep with me for around 5 years. My only hold back is the price. I was hoping to keep it at around £2300 if possible, but I've been out of the parts game for a while and I'm unsure what I can swap what out with what.

Thanks for any advice!

The build looks fine to me. Perhaps looking at a tighter timing DDR5 ram kit(with the same frequency) otherwise the build looks balanced. You could ditch the 980 Pro and wait for a higher pedigree drive to come around while you make do with the other two older gen SATA based 2.5" Samsung SSD's.

I was thinking of adding the 990 PRO instead of the 980, but is there some new advancement coming for NVME drives? Unfortunate, but DDR5 RAM is quite expensive and I'm struggling to find something with CL32 that isn't another £50+.

Intel is due to release the i7 13700 / 13700F along with the B760 boards on January 3rd. That will help cut cost.

This is very interesting, thank you. I was planning on doing the final purchases around early Jan anyway so this is something I'm going to keep an eye out for.

While your at it keep your eyes peeled for this case. It was just released in the US ($100) and should show up in the UK any day now. And btw look at the Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 PCIe 3.0 SSD.

Another good shout! I originally was going to go with a Lian-Li Mesh PERFORMANCE case so it's good to see they're putting out a new one.

Looks good in general but given you have a 1440p 144Hz monitor a 4080 seems overkill. I would look at a cheap deal on a 3080 or 6950XT which could save you £400ish.
