My Cd-Writer just says in Device Manager that it's 36x10x40.
It works fine and I have no problems, except - how do I find out what brand it is? I can phone my vendor but the customer service hold usually exceeds my patience levels...

I guess the easiest way that i would do it would be to take the side off my case and try to see whats written on the label ontop the drive.

P.S. Sometimes those "please hold" customer services (torture) can be skipped over by repeatedly pressing the number 0.

Does Device Manager report the firmware number for your CDRW? We might be able to identify the drive with that.

The only 36x drive that I have heard of is the 36x12x48x Cyberdrive (I have one). Never heard of a 36x10x40x unit.
