[SOLVED] If I bought a Windows 8.1 Pro, can i upgrade it to Windows 10/Pro right away?

I found a discounted Windows 8.1 license from $153 (converted price) to $68 (converted too)
i wondering if can upgrade it to Windows 10/Pro using its license key.

Using a valid Win 8.1 Pro license key to activate a new WIn 10 Pro install - Yes. It works. I literally did this last week.

Using a $15 Win 8.1 Pro license - That's a whole other thing.
Maybe, maybe not.


And the reason I had to use a WIn 8.1 Pro license to validate a WIn 10 Pro install was because the previous license was not valid. (long story)

I can believe that. I can't imagine anyone who would want to actually buy Windows 8.1 AND keep it as 8.1 (so the local people the want to buy a new OS minus the people that know they can still upgrade for free). Heck, I would be tempted to haggle them for a lower price, as Microsoft stopped selling the OS 3 years ago, so they have been sitting on it at least that long.
