MOMMY! MOMMY! THESE MEAN OLD FORUM PEOPLE ARE SAYING BAD THINGS ABOUT APPLE!

Seriously Mr. Nguyen, how long would Tom's be in business if you eliminated all the negative posters? Number of eyeballs = mindshare = $$$(a.k.a. - Business 101).

If your article is actually serious, I suggest you contact Dr. Phil and ask him why you care about anonymous posts in an anonymous forum.

If your intent is to stifle free speech, then we can all take up a collection and buy you a one way ticket to Iran.

Anybody see how Apple's profit jumped 47 percent this past quarter? The articles I read all stated it was due to increased sales of this product and that product, but none mentioned the fact that this quarter Apple used their new accounting method that they pushed through recently that would allow them to book certain types of sales, subscription based I believe, i.e. iPhone, all at once instead of as before over a 2 year time frame.

Also, didn't MS and Bill Gates bail out Apple years ago? So I guess without MS, Apple wouldn't be around today.

[citation][nom]hakesterman[/nom]JWL3 - Apple isn't for liberals, their for Democrats, get your crap straight.[/citation]
They're for Republicans, they're for centerists, blah blah blah.

They are for the human beings that happen to buy them. Shut up and move on

Toms has come a long way to tell its readers what they should think about the news. It reminds me of practices in some company... can't remember the name though (something with a fruit logo I think).
Seriously, taking first to comments - common.
If you address your readers as morons, don't get jittery when they post rubbish.

Ok here is my take: I don't hate Apple, never have. I only use PC's. I started reading Tom's Hardware when it was a site dedicated to DIY computers. I realize things have changed at Tom's, but I still read to find out about the latest trends and hardware to build my own. Apple has no place in that world, and I think that is why hate gets posted. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been reading Tom's for a long time, since the days that Apple wouldn't get mentioned here, except as the butt of a joke.

Thanks for posting this article... I use both Mac and PC products... just depends on what I'm looking to do with the technology. Take home message - do research and buy / use what you need!

Maybe if you wrote articles about somebody other than Apple once in awhile there'd be less flaming. I'll admit, I've been reading the news daily on the website for years, religiously. As if I didn't hate Apple enough already (not that it matters), it seems every single day there's at least one article about Apple, and fewer and fewer actually interesting articles like there used to be. Three years back you spoke of new technology, science, and all this fun stuff. Now when I come on it's about Twitter and Apple. These articles have gone downhill in the last three years, and I"m sure there are many who would agree with me.

[citation][nom]JMcEntegart[/nom]Think that was a shot someone took with their phone at CES last year. Sorry the quality isn't great.[/citation]
you sure its not a Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS with the iso set high 😛
I had to.....after all EXIF does not lie.

The concept of journalistic integrity is lost on Tom's Hardware's staff. Apple commercials are flat-out lies, making claims about PCs that just aren't true, when infact Macs have many, many problems. Apple is guilty of slander, and sells a crap product at ridiculous margins to , and Tom's staff is an accessory to the crime.

PS: You'll never dupe your readers into liking Apple, but you will succeed in alienating them.

Tuan, if you have read the comments over the past ...years, how come you can not come up with a f...ing EDIT BUTTON ? Did you not see the complaints about that?
Apple marketing: yes, it works so well that whenever Jobs feels like farting you get an article about how pleasant those farts are. If you want to be objective just post about ALL the other PC manufacturer news to the same extent and you'll see a LOT less comments about Mac fanboys on your site (I'm looking at you, Marcus!). Take the very recent news about the mouse that Apple released; how about you post something similar when ANY manufacturer releases a mouse? I mean, a friggin' MOUSE? c'mon...
Apple reliability: not so great: every so often on a regular basis I have to do a hard reset on my iPod and then waste my time putting back my music on it. I would get something else, but to hold all my music I need a huge capacity on my device and I can't buy something that expensive right now. The reason I bought this iPod to begin with was all the marketing and hype about how foul-proof the Apple products are... So give me a break about their superiority.

Lmao, I agree doc70. I could care less that Apple released a new mouse. If you're gonna fill us in with every insignificant detail about Apple, do so with EVERY PC manufacturer. You'll soon see how boring it is.

this pertains to so many things out there today. So many people attack the author and not the idea (has a term that i learned in class but can't remember it). And when they attack the idea they have very opinionated and just un-rational thoughts. And on top of that no one can back up what they say with legit rhetoric and evidence. It's become so bad, to the point where i can't read the local letters to the editor.

TH, It usually is not about Apple hating.. it is about ridiculous articles written in a totally unprofessional way..

I don't think anyone really thinks you are paid.. what most think is that you ruin yourself letting so low quality material be published on your site.

I came up with a solution to my Apple hate. I bought their stock. Now every time someone overpays for the Apple name, I earn money towards my retirement.

Please look at the news section right now. Please tell me how many of those articles are Apple related/promotions to PC?

and

Its not so much about me hating apple. I would love an iphone, but im not paying $100+ a month for service, when they clearly block out anything that isn't making apple the company money, aka, free applications that do the same thing.

Oh brother quit crying and know your audience. Did "Best of Media" not know what this site was about? This was a hardcore techie site that primarily tested components scientifically. Motherboards, video cards, CPUs, fans, power supplies, cases, RAM, etc. This was a modders site, an overclockers site.

Since you cant legally mod anything on an Apple product beside upgrading the RAM it's pointless to keep posting these ridiculous Apple articles that seem to have plagued this site lately. Your readers don't care about proprietary systems that less then 10% of people use. Just cause you saw a bunch of kids with purple Imacs in college doesn't mean the hard core tech community cares.

And the main problem I see is the quality of your articles. If your going to post biased unproven nonsense like the "Snow Leopard is faster then Win 7" article you WILL be called out on it. If your going to put an article on an overpriced powerbook on this site you better give equal coverage to Toshiba, Dell, HP, Sony, etc. because you readers are MUCH more likely to be interested in those.

I don't hate Apple computers, but I do hate they way they run their company. They spent at least the last 10 years trying to scare consumers into buying their machines by making false claims about windows. Macs pinwheel and boot up with question marks and break just as often as any PC.

Then they rip off the consumer at purchase and for repairs. Do you defend Intel's pricing? I doubt it. But the EU sure is interested aren't they? So the "Apple tax" IS relevant, it's bad for consumers. To add insult to injury consumers find they can't even run all the software they want because it's not made for Macs. What really irks me about Apple is they have attacked Microsoft for years when they themselves are the most proprietary, incompatible company out there. Look at their recent efforts to hold down Palm and Google.

So I say again know your audience, its a Windows and Unix world with the occasional small Appletalk network on the side for the graphics artists. So the IT community could care less about Macs. They are a small niche market that 90% of consumers don't care about either because they use PCs. Until Apple stops attacking PC's, ripping people off and outright lying to consumers the tech community will call them out on it.

If your audience doesn't like the direction your going they are gonna tell you. I doubt "Best of Media" would approve of your advice to "read something else" We will, but it will be on a different website. They would probably prefer you write something that people want to read on this website.

This article was childish and made you look very thin skinned. The flaming on this site isn't even that bad. I've seen much worse on game, sports, and car forums.

Whilst I agree with the general sentiment (especially about Mac's just being another bit of hardware to review, and the hate, my animosity towards Mac's is pretty friendly, and opposed more to Apple's advertising policies than anything else), the trouble as far as i see it is that a lot of the articles people complain thew most in responses there is little in the way of objective analysis or comment, the very issue people have with Apple as a company itself (Apple do have a tendancy to focus away from their hardware and concentrate on telling us that they are cool, stylish and for 'creative' people). The best way to dispel the hatred is to actually provide some common ground for serious and intelligent debate. If you cannot review apple products and produce meaningful benchmarks, then posts like this:
http://www.pheedcontent.com/click.phdo?i=61149a6b5f56c96f397090cc389424d2
are only going to fan the flames of anger, not lessen them.

While I do not like Apple as a company, I have no issue with seeing Apple news on Tom's hardware. That being said, lately we haven't been getting Apple news, but Apple propaganda with less than scientific "facts" being thrown at us by someone that seems to have an alternate agenda. The "Snow Leopard is faster than Windows 7!" article is prime example.

Keep the articles to tech news, and I don't care what company they are about. Post unbiased, factual articles, not articles that seem to be pushing an agenda on everyone.
