Oh brother quit crying and know your audience. Did "Best of Media" not know what this site was about? This was a hardcore techie site that primarily tested components scientifically. Motherboards, video cards, CPUs, fans, power supplies, cases, RAM, etc. This was a modders site, an overclockers site.
Since you cant legally mod anything on an Apple product beside upgrading the RAM it's pointless to keep posting these ridiculous Apple articles that seem to have plagued this site lately. Your readers don't care about proprietary systems that less then 10% of people use. Just cause you saw a bunch of kids with purple Imacs in college doesn't mean the hard core tech community cares.
And the main problem I see is the quality of your articles. If your going to post biased unproven nonsense like the "Snow Leopard is faster then Win 7" article you WILL be called out on it. If your going to put an article on an overpriced powerbook on this site you better give equal coverage to Toshiba, Dell, HP, Sony, etc. because you readers are MUCH more likely to be interested in those.
I don't hate Apple computers, but I do hate they way they run their company. They spent at least the last 10 years trying to scare consumers into buying their machines by making false claims about windows. Macs pinwheel and boot up with question marks and break just as often as any PC.
Then they rip off the consumer at purchase and for repairs. Do you defend Intel's pricing? I doubt it. But the EU sure is interested aren't they? So the "Apple tax" IS relevant, it's bad for consumers. To add insult to injury consumers find they can't even run all the software they want because it's not made for Macs. What really irks me about Apple is they have attacked Microsoft for years when they themselves are the most proprietary, incompatible company out there. Look at their recent efforts to hold down Palm and Google.
So I say again know your audience, its a Windows and Unix world with the occasional small Appletalk network on the side for the graphics artists. So the IT community could care less about Macs. They are a small niche market that 90% of consumers don't care about either because they use PCs. Until Apple stops attacking PC's, ripping people off and outright lying to consumers the tech community will call them out on it.
If your audience doesn't like the direction your going they are gonna tell you. I doubt "Best of Media" would approve of your advice to "read something else" We will, but it will be on a different website. They would probably prefer you write something that people want to read on this website.
This article was childish and made you look very thin skinned. The flaming on this site isn't even that bad. I've seen much worse on game, sports, and car forums.
