Hey all,

First time user, long time reader.

I've been having this issue which is whenever I'm playing online games, I seem to disconnect from the servers, and sometimes very frequently.

I used to be on Wi-Fi all the time, but then I decided screw it, I'll use a cable because I know it's much better. That didn't make any difference except get me lightning dl/ul speeds.

I tried everything I know, I resetted the modem box, I changed the dns to 8.8.8.8 , I flushed dns. I don't know what else is there to do.

I would really appreciate any help I can get from here.

Solution
It could be that your internet connection is actually going down for short periods. Maybe your route and/or modem have logs that indicate if there are problems with the line. It could also be packet loss due to error on your line.

How do you know you do not disconnect. Web pages will just reset the data and you will not see it. Things like video streams have very large data buffers that can hide any outages. Games are very different because they are a form of real time traffic. Pretty much the only other thing that runs like them is video conference and even that has small buffers.
