This is a stable overclock, because I delidded the CPU and applied Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal.

EDIT: I am not paying Photobucket $400 to allow me to upload pictures here. For now I am moving to imgur. If anyone has a better web site to upload and download to please let me know. - - Because it has been 7 months since I posted my above info, and Photobucket now requires $400 to post pictures I am resubmitting the data

Hi all,

When I flip the little EZ Overclocking switch in the ASRock BIOS and reboot, my PC won't post. It'll freeze right after the bios screen. I should definitely be able to at least use the basic overclocking options, if not more.

Here's what I'm running:

ASRock x99 Taichi
Intel 6850k
Samsung 960 Pro M.2
32GB GSkill 3000mHz
EVGA 1200P2
Zotac GTX1080
-- All liquid cooled (have never hit temps above 40C [CPU] and 65C [GPU])

WHAT'S WRONG???

It will run just fine not overclocked, but I've run into some serious throttling issues with music production.

I have read some Der8auer stuff and achieved enlightenment.

Behold the beauty - I7-8086K @ 5.1GHz with 1.33v vcore, screenshot is 1 hour point with Prime95 v26.6 (no AVX) custom test in-place FFT, min/max FFT 1344, which should be golden standard test.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've never heard of verifying stability using a single FFT length. Custom settings are fine, but I would think that a 512/4096 max/min would be the standard if you're not just going to establish with default modes or other stress tests.

You could reach higher overclocking numbers if you weren't running that hodge podge of memory modules, whether you realize it or not that is holding you back.

Total Size
20480 MB
Type
Dual Channel (128 bit) DDR4-SDRAM
Frequency
1367.6 MHz (DDR4-2736) - Ratio 1:20
Timings
16-18-18-36-2 (tCAS-tRC-tRP-tRAS-tCR)
Slot #1 Module
Kingston 4096 MB (DDR4-2137) - P/N: 9905622-057.A00G
Slot #2 Module
Corsair 8192 MB (DDR4-2137) - P/N: CMV8GX4M1A2133C15
Slot #3 Module
Kingston 4096 MB (DDR4-2137) - P/N: 9905678-024.A00G
Slot #4 Module
Samsung 4096 MB (DDR4-2137) - P/N: M378A5143EB1-CPB

Suggestions:

#1 For overclocking purposes you need a matched set of memory and only 2 modules to occupy the 2 primary slots of the motherboard, especially since you have an ASUS motherboard.

#2 You are claiming you're running 2137mhz, that's actually incorrect as CPU-Z reports your memory at 1367.6mhz, check it yourself.

#3 Your base clock should be 100.0mhz. not 102.56mhz.

Thanks Ryan...

https://valid.x86.fr/y41ejs >>> new validation base 100 ...4.7 ghz

what i can expect if i replace ram slot #4 to same as slot#2? or i need to replace all with higher memory clock ram?

Consider it an honor that darkbreeze is trying to help you as well!

I downloaded your motherboard manual, the recommended memory slots are A2 & B2 for a matched module set.

In your case the memory modules you have are all different product numbers so IMO they're garbage, No Offense Intended.

Since your 7700Ks memory design specifications are 2133/2400 then I suggest getting a matched set of memory at 2400mhz, which won't overclock your CPUs memory controller and allow lower temperatures to possibly reach higher multiplier overclock numbers.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232173

Reason for this suggestion: G-Skill is some of the best memory you can buy, period!
16g 2 x 8g is the perfect amount of memory for your setup, they won't overclock your memory controller, and they run at 1.20v, which is the M/B slot voltage recommendation.

The most important thing in overclocking is having the hardware to overclock, I don't care how much overclocking knowledge you have you're crippled with mismatched memory modules.
