its ok to be in denial. Thats ok, i know there are things called testing boards and that has been going on for long time, with both AMD and intel, but since you have youre head shoved too far up youre ass, you cant notice that.

Try not to be such an Intel fanboy while you are decrying the AMD fanboy's. 😀

why fight about it now? Wait until Tom's gets a hold of a new production AM2 and a new production Conroe and see then who is top. Or even if they aren't production (although that would be optimal for the best results) it will still be nice to see a site we all know and trust to benchmark em and give us the real low down on who kicks who's proc. I am staying out of this fight until i see something like that. I don't want to look at benchmarks that may have drivers that are specially and only optimized for a conroe or AM2 for that matter. I want to see benchmarks for a system that has the same drivers i would use running that system. I think we all can agree on that right? Fanboys or not, when Tom's benchmarks say one way or the other, AND THEY HAVE SAID BOTH WAYS IN THE PAST. Which goes to show they are not biased. Then we can all point fingers at the other companies fanboys and laugh. As a overall fan of AMD i hope AMD comes out better. But as i said i am a overall AMD fan. If Intel comes out better then cool. Just gives AMD something to shoot for instead of just releasing chips at a just fast enough rate to be slightly faster then Intel. I honestly think AMD already has the tech for the faster chips and is sitting on it right now waiting to see what Intel does. I mean, why release a truly faster chip now when what you got currently beats the competition and you can sell it now and sit on your next upgrade until the time comes it's needed. Hell, I know that's true look at the front page of www.tomshardware.com. It flat out says AMD is ready to release AM2 but is waiting until June 6 to release it for what are most likely performance tweaking reasons. It basically goes to show AMD is selling hot now, no reason to introduce a new product until current gets outdated. Now on the other hand if AMD doesn't have a couple cards up it's sleeve, then i think they are in trouble. The Intel Marketing machine is VERY powerful. I guarantee you more people worldwide know the Intel name then the AMD name. Hell when i used to run a PC builder business i mainly sold AMD products and had to countless times tell people the AMD history, and how their products were just as good as Intel. This happened at Best Buy too. Something that worries me a little is an article i read somewhere about AMD shifting its focus from consumers to commercial. AMD said it basically has enough market share right now for the home user base and really just wants to try and hold that. I want to say they said about 50-60% but that may be wrong. I can't remember exactly so don't flame if numbers are off. What i know they did say was that they are trying to get more into the really big commercial business where customers buy pc's 1000 at a time vs the home user buying 1 usually. If they can do this successfully. I believe they can be a HUGE threat to Intel. AMD has come leaps and bounds into the server market with the OPTY. Now getting into the workstation market of Fortune 1000 companies could produce very high levels of revenue and get the R&D dollars up as well as the money to make additional fabs with should also help them go down in nanometers like Intel has had the money to do. I base that totally on the fact that Intel is so strong in the commercial market.

Well there is my 2 cents take it or leave it. I dont care.

since MadModMike has nothing intellectual to say, he just states whos a fugger, when he forgot to add his own name into that list. MadModMike, youre just as bad as us or worse, and since thoes benchmarks prove, and soon to come, more, just face it, youre at a position that I was in, now its youre turn, it hits you right in the face. Now add youre name to the fugger list, or it will make you look like an idiot, since youre just as bad or worse then the other fanboys and everyone knows it except others who are in denial like DVDdipsh!t (now im beggining to become more of a fanboy)

Uhm...mr. 14 year old...no...

1) Those benchmarks show me how well that DDR2 Memory is, and I already knew it was good

2) They used a "Modified ATI Driver" to "recognize Conroe", uh huh...okay..., so why didn't this "modified driver" recognize FX-60? hmm... hmm....

3) You're a fanboy....LOL @ U!

How good DDR2 is? Are you out of your mind? I can assure you, the last reason Conroe will dominate is due to DDR2.

Also, you fail to recognize that AMD is using 90nm technology, which is blatantly outdated now

Don't make an @sshole of your self with those statements.

Answer me the following:

¿What really matters, a die shrink or the process in which the die is being made?

Don't burn out the little you have left in brain cells thinking this one out.

Hey Mike,

That article was promising 🙂. When are you going to jump ship and become an Intel Fanboy.

Just so you know the processor from AMD was not an Unknown it was an FX-60. Also given that it was the 2.66ghz version Conroe being reviewed that was pretty impressive. Even if you really do not like Intel you have to be at least a little bit interested in the perfomance of a 2.66 (although the benchies could be somewhat suspect) that performs as well as it did.

I hope it really is this fast in independent testing. That will have AMD tweaking the heck out of the AM2 and maybe release something even better.

Man I love performance wars (there is almost nothing better of course price wars are fun too).

AMD || INTEL + Great Performance + Good Pricing = /me(Happy)

Funny you say that dumbass, considering Conroe has both.

Strike 1.

Intel is good at shrinking their dies but they suck in manufacturing process.

Still, you didn't answer my question.

Are you an idiot? Strained Silicon is superior to Silicon on Insulator in both scalability, performance and leakage. Why do you think AMD uses it on their FX line?

Strike 2

No, you are the idiot.
There's no way in the world (or in the universe) that strained silicon is better than AMD's PD-SOI process. AMD's current 90nm is way cooler than Intel's current 65nm.

Wow, it's worse than I thought. Explain to me the cold bug then, and the higher amount of leakage.

Um, last I heard, AMD was taking marketshare from Intel. Even if Intel can crank out 10k more space heaters daily.

Thats why people buy Intel; heat their homes. As long as you can afford the electricity bill, you can own an Intel. Then you don't need a furnace. In the long run it saves But during summer, they move the computer to the nearest window and blow the hot air outside.

Intel causes global warming.
Down with Intel, they cause global warming, oh sh!t that was rich.  [/quote]

Atleast learn how to qute people, you nub. And Intel does cause Global Warming. The suck up more watts and give off much more heat, and then the heat warms the atmosphere. Show me the website or person who doesn't have a stock cooler on their Intel that keeps it anywhere near as cool as a stock cooler on and AMD. Intel is always hotter.

AM2 cant tweak out 20% extra performance (clock for clock), it would need a complete overhaul

even next year all it is is 65nm A64's and maybe more cache

amds are now hotter, slower and more expensive

Wow, it amazes me how many rash assumptions you intel fanboys make when it comes to your processors superiority.

Whether or not your processor is a tad bit faster would make no difference on how lame your life is away from your comp. If you get orgasmic like that about a processor thats not even available for true bench tests, you need to stop using that blowup Bill Gates doll, and go out and find some real sechs.

You geography n00b. That does NOT cause global warming.
The heat is rapidly disipated. What causes global warming is CO2 or other problemtic gases that absorb heat from the sun. Without that it would be a lot colder than it is. But too much is never good and it will end up sad if we don't do something about it. Because we polute every day on a large scale the cuantity of CO2 has increased and our atmosphere keeps a lot more heat than it should.
A kind of global warming repeatedely happened in the past. But then it was natural since there were cold times(very cold, most of Europe and America, BTW it happened in the cuaternar era(i'm not sure how you call it in English)) followed by slow rises in temperature. Now this process has intensified due to our action. If we don't do something, the snow in the Poles will melt causing a major increase in the water level. Deserts will continue their expansion which will lead only to the destruction of economy. Places threatened?
West America, central Asia,N and S Africa. And of course increase in temperatures and quantity of rains/snow leading to drought.

That being said neither AMD nor Intel directly feed this process.

I now proclaim MADMODMIKE as the new king of Intel Fanboys 🙂

The other ship was taking on water and now he is on the Intel Ship.

I too thought it would never happen. Seeing someone like MADMODMIKE switch teams like that is a sure sign that Intel is indeed taking the crown.

It is a good day for INTEL.

Who needs the INTEL marketing department when you can do your own 😀

Now, I want to see AMD totally smash INTEL's Conroe. That way I get to buy another good processor at a good price and Mike can jump back to the AMD cruise liner.

DVDpDiddy,

Don't worry there is room for you too at the right hand of MIKE (Intels new King Fanboy)... You can be the Queen or the court Jester (you choose).
