I want to get hold of that HiAlgo, Lucid MVP I find at times accelerated FPS to much that it caused tearing which is not enjoyable at all despite the sizeable gain in performance. If this works better and the scaling is a little more streamline then its a nice little product for integrated solutions.

Intel Cans Rockwell Processors for Desktops - Spy-Shot From Intel’s Roadmap.
Intel Haswell-E for Enthusiasts, Skylake for Mainstream Desktops Due in 2015
http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/display/20130422193800_Intel_Cans_Rockwell_Processors_for_Desktops_Spy_Shot_From_Intel_s_Roadmap.html
okay, this sounds strange. why are they calling broadwell -rockwell? i don't mind ro- i mean, broadwell getting cancelled at all. however, the article speculates that broadwell(!?) will be available for oems and sff pcs like nuc....
....
we already know some of this. broadwell being bga-only, aimed at mobile pcs, skylake being lga etc. what's new is the hint of issues with intel's 14nm node. at least (from that one slide) valleyview socs, skylake(14nm), haswell-e seem to be on track. strangely, haswell-e is grouped under 14nm....
edit: might also mean that amd fanboyd won't have to be scared of steamroller facing off with roc- i mean, broadwell anymore. :)

if the prices are correct, these are more or less in line with ivb prices, at least from msrp side. retail prices can vary depending on a lot of things. the earlier fearmongering about $200 core i3 and $300 core i5 cpus can be put to rest.

Intel's Return to DRAM: Haswell GT3e to Integrate 128MB eDRAM?
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6911/intels-return-to-the-dram-business-haswell-gt3e-to-integrate-128mb-edram

the edram helps intel eliminate ddr3 for vram and a cut of the bom. but 128mb is not enough for todays displays. in the future we'll need at least 2gb (high clockrate, high bw vram) for higher res. displays. 512bit bus seems promising.... although i think that the igpu and vram will hit their respective limits before the bus would be saturated. amd's gddr5 implementation with kaveri seems much better. moar better if amd introduces user-resizable vram in the drivers unlike intel's dvmt-something.

AMD does have adjustable VRAM now on the APU's, you can go from 128mb to 3GB

What I find great about this is, we get first glimpses of the capabilities down ther road, using an inferior part, but the boosts and power savings a edram solution has and can do.
This is the low hanging fruit here, and leaves room for nice expansion
I am hinting at Broadwell here, as well as excavator and AMDs solution which should be similar, if not in design, improvements with again, expansion in mind, as we whittle down into oblivion with each new node

MacBook featuring Intel's Haswell chip go into production in May
http://vr-zone.com/articles/macbook-featuring-intel-s-haswell-chip-go-into-production-in-may/19818.html
iirc it was apple who demanded that intel bundle edram with hd4000 igpus and intel scrapped the plan because no one else wanted [strike]hd4000[/strike] it (it's not worth the hassle 😛).

Android notebooks? Yep, Intel says, and they'll only cost $200

ms' core business is os. if they give it away for free, that can't make money. andy will be greatly undercutting ms here.

I always use BIOS, so I lock in 1GB which is plenty for 1080/1200 resolution HTPC. I am not a fan of OS based OC tools, It must be the oldschool in me.

Yeah I saw that Coolaler link yesterday and many are sceptical because of that fact but coolaler are actually yet to be proven wrong and are on a hot streak so it lends food for thought, that said I don't think a 3960X owner will really feel obliged to upgrade or sidegrade.

Intel shifting Celeron, Pentium chips to Atom architecture

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7003/the-haswell-review-intel-core-i74770k-i54560k-tested/3

Haswell doesn’t change the overclocking limits put in place with Sandy Bridge. All CPUs are frequency locked, however K-series parts ship fully unlocked. A new addition is the ability to adjust BCLK to one of three pre-defined straps (100/125/167MHz). The BCLK adjustment gives you a little more flexibility when overclocking, but you still need a K-SKU to take advantage of the options.

looks like haswell is realy failwell

Yep, and hotter than Ivy.

http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/5522/intel-core-i7-4770k-haswell-4th-gen-cpu-and-z87-express-chipset-review/index11.html

I wish we'd see benchmarks clock vs clock and that goes for everything - processing, load temps, power usage, 1 core, 4 core, HT on/off, etc.

Just leave out the AMD comparisons and compare ALL mid/high end 1155 cpu's. I think we'd all know how to take the results being we all know where BD/PD stand vs Intel (2500K ↑) and if not, there's plenty of other reviews out there.

At the end of the day, one enthusiast cares: me!

Good job Intel! Making a desktop CPU specifically to please me.

xD
