Question Is it safe to leave broken HDMI and VGA contacts on the motherboard?

Hello!

There were two power surges in a row.
The computer turns on, but there is no image output on the monitor or on the TV. The message "no signal" appears.
The monitor was connected via an HDMI cable (before power surges). I tried to connect the monitor via VGA and nothing happened, the message "no signal". Previously, VGA worked. I don't use a discrete graphics card, so HDMI and VGA were connected to the motherboard.

I found a discrete graphics card and connected the graphics card via an HDMI cable. The image appeared.

As I understand it, the problem is with the motherboard. The power surge damaged the hdmi and vga contacts (maybe some more, I don't know for sure).

So there is a question:

Is it safe to use a computer with a discrete video card (HDMI cable to the video card) when the HDMI and VGA connectors on the motherboard are not working?
Or do I need to change the motherboard because other components of the computer may be damaged later?

Thanks.
