Hello there,

I am running prime stress test on my new core i7 set up. It has been running stable at 3.78 Ghz with turbo mode on for more than 3 hours. Temperature is slowly climbing to 70 ( hottest core). It stays there for the last 30 minutes. My settings are:

i 970 cpu v core: 1.28 V in cpuz ( 1.33 in bios)
memory: 1.66 V @ 8X
Qpi: X36
Qpi/vtt: 1.4

I am using gigabytes ex58 ud4p board. Are these settings right or acceptable? I can reduce the cpu frequency if the voltage requirements are too high. Prime test is stable and i will let that run for another 5 hours.

Please advise.

Thanks.

i am using noctua. that heatsink is awesome. I need to reapply thermal paste to get better cooling. It is stable at 3.78. i ran it for more than 7 hours. The highest temperature i see during stress test is 72.
