I have been using two HP 27ers for about 2 years now and I was wondering if it was worth it to upgrade to a 1440p monitor. The picture quality on the 27er is great but I can see pixels sometimes when viewing icons or text. So would upgrading to a 1440p display resolve this issue? How much of a difference does it make? Are there any 27 inch 1440p monitors you recommend? Thanks!

Solution
Yeah, since your budget allows some premium features, a couple monitors come to mind:

LG27GL850 - 1440p, 48-144Hz variable refresh rate, IPS, 1ms G2G response time, 135% sRGB.

Asus VG27AQ - 1440p, 48-144Hz variable refresh rate, IPS, 4ms G2G response time, and it can do backlight (ELMB) stobing WHILE variable refresh is enabled, 99% sRGB.

Samsung C27HG70 - 1440p, 48-144Hz variable refresh rate, VA, 1ms G2G response time, 8 zones local dimming, HDR600, 125% sRGB.
review here (I own this monitor)
Most people are in agreement that 24" 1080p (92ppi) is an acceptable "standard" Therein, a 27" 1440p monitor has 109ppi so it's more pixel dense, whereas a 27" 1080p monitor is only 82ppi.

27" @ 1080p or 1440p seems to be a general tipping point. Some people aren't bothered by 27" 1080p, others can't stand it (I'm in the later category).

The downside of 1440p is that it puts you in the $300-450 range for graphics cards if you're gaming. Speaking of which, are you looking for a gaming monitor, or are you a non-gamer?

I would prefer a monitor with better color accuracy over refresh rate because I don’t play many high action games. Assuming I got 1440p monitor would my RTX 2060 be able to keep up?
