Hello! My power supply is a Thermaltake Litepower 650W. I recently ordered a RX 6650 XT, but I am not planning to install it with this PSU as I'm afraid it could be too weak, despite being a "650W" (which I think is more like 550W). Should I wait until I buy a new power supply? Or I could limit the power and framerate to test the new GPU for a while? Never had any issues with this PSU.

I'll list my PC specs:
MOBO: MSI PRO H610M-G
CPU: Intel Core i3-12100
GPU: RX 6650 XT (on its way)
RAM: 16GB DDR4 3000MHz
PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 650W

I wouldn't even consider it a PSU, honestly. Go here, scroll down to Tier F, that should tell you as much, regardless of what GPU you want to pair the PSU with, it's a hazard to the entire platform.

The PSU is considered to be the heart of the system, if the unit has a heartache, it takes out everything it's hooked up to. This is why you buy a reliably built, quality PSU. When shopping for a PSU, it's 80+ efficiency badge and advertised wattage aren't the only things you look for.

I've been using this PSU for 5 years paired with a GTX 1050 Ti. Never had any issue with it, but that 1050 Ti only draws 75W. I do plan to buy a Seasonic PSU in a few weeks. Altough the Thermaltake is a cheap one, it proved to work well all these years.

Your call if you want to try it.... keep in mind that if the psu decides to croak you could end up with a pile of junk.

In my opinion that power supply isn't good. That PSU is a bomb that is bound to being detonated like a hydrogen bomb, pretty deadly to your parts. I suggest picking a different PSU, Preferrably you should tell us your budget so that we can give out a good suggestion. My starting point would be the MSI MAG A650BN.

That PSU is gonna detonate once and it is gonna fry everything. My friend from my class had some old PC with the exact same PSU and he could not even turn on the PC (probably cuz of the PSU:
a) it wrecked havoc on the components
b) PSU died and did not ruin anything)

OP should get a newer PSU!

Well, I was planning already to buy a newer one. My budget is around 100€.

RX 6650 XT doesn't require a lot of power. It's ~180W card.
500W PSU is enough for it.

Thermaltake Litepower 650W can handle ~530W load (44A on 12V rail).

So - it should be fine (barely though).
It should, but considering what people say about these kind of power supplies, I'll just wait a few more weeks until I get a better one. Better be safe than sorry. Surprised it worked all these years really.

These ones that triplex1 got, these are great suggestions. Pick whichever one you want (depends what ur preference is because all our good but cables and stuff is your decision) and then tell us!
I'm looking at the MSI MAG A750G. In my country this is exactly 100 euros. There is also Seasonic G12 GC Series for less money and EVGA SuperNOVA P5 for a bit more than 100 euros. I don't really have a preference, I'm more interested in a good, reliable PSU.
