Hiall,
I have a alienware m15 r6 laptop which I have had for a year & half let’s say I been having a few memory issues with it the 8GB kit didn’t suit my needs so I got a 32GB kit. It worked fine but every now & then it would just not boot give me a colour code for reading no memory or it dosent like it so I would swap it around it will work fine then swap it again would work fine for awhile till I have the same issue & do it all again.

Now too weeks ago when I took it on holidays it was working fine till it slowed down & just shut off. I thought nothing of it at the time finally this week I took it out to have a look & fixed it again this is we’re it went from problem to problem 1st it gave me the memory issue so did the swap thing then couple days later I notice it had a 2end issue with the battery was charging then losing charge when it was plugged it & then it turned shut off while I had it plugged in doing a project then it gave me a beep code for a RTC power failure that really annoyed me.

I was like I’ll disconnect the battery give it a power drain then reconnect it then it gives me a cpu error colour code I start panicking abit so I played around with the 🔋 battery got it going again but it’s slowing down freezing a lot not even in a I trust it state now as it passes all the sell scanning test or any test I do it all passes with flying colours which is got me stump as it failed a stress test when the battery is fully charged it goes down when it hit around 80 percent or so it freezes then lags even just shuts off so do I throw it away keep the memory sticks ?

It also few months back didn’t detect the gpu but that was fixed by a restart😂

P.s memory kits are both the same speed.

Specs;
11gen i511400H 2.7GHZ
8GB or 32GB ddr4 3200MHZ
Rtx 3060
Nvme 500GB default drive
Extra Nvme 1tb

Got a link to the ram you're using? If not, please take a picture of the stickered information on the stick(s) of ram host them on a site like Imgur and then pass on a link for us to see.

Check to see if your laptop has any BIOS updates pending. Following that open Task Manager>Processes, see if you can spot anything that's showing up with abnormally high resource usage.

Can you get into Safe Mode? If so, try and backup your mission critical data off the laptop and then proceed to an OS reinstall as the last resort but if your drive is on it's way out, then you've saved your data to begin with.

Yep I can get it safe mode to plus backed it up. I also used crystal disk it's saying both drives good 95 percent

the specific supports that ram you like but with a voltage of 1.2 volts. You find and put as much as you need with the specific voltage, sell the others or put the one you have at 4 gigabytes, it will work there
if you need 32 you will put 2 sticks 2x16 gigabytes , make sure you have 2 memory slots available for this

Update swap it back around to the 1.2v kit 8GB kit it did the colour code thing for the memory which is odd I did swap thingy now it logged in but still slow & stuttering but it just did the thing were it shut of in middle of something so 1 problem I think is fixed. Now to the power issue any ideas battery is zeroed & if I go to install windows will it stay on🤔

the only thing you can do if you insist on the 2 memories with different voltage, is to throw away your laptop

Sorry I think there was communication error I said I have switched out the high voltage ones & put both low power voltages ones in & I think it's fixed my memory issues.

However that wasn't my only problem the main power & battery is also giving me grief.

Sorry for the late reply I managed to install new windows everything is alright but it's got a RTC power issue when I try to game or video editing it flashes the code for it. Runs abit slow but I did dells diagnostic everything is fine but a warning on the battery. So I went into the bios the AC adaptor is not getting recognised which is lovely. However when I fix the RTC power issue it charges alright but losses charge when gaming & that even plugged in. I think I might be time to get a New laptop.
