Hey, I've had this laptop (Dell Inspiron 15R 3521) for some time now and recently it started getting too hot, even when idle.
It idles on 50~65°C and goes as high as 95°C when gaming.
It might have to do with the recent RAM and SSD upgrades.
I also tried cleaning it, applied new thermal paste, and made sure the fan is working.

Laptop specs:
CPU: i7-3537U @ 2 GHz
GPU1: Radeon HD 8500/8700M (Dedicated)
GPU2: Intel HD 4000
RAM: 8 GB (4GB before upgrade)
Storage: Kingston SA400 480GB SSD
+ WDC WD7500BPVT 700GB (installed in place of CD Drive)

Does external weather temperature affect it much and how worried should I be?

Solution
Laptops is designed to run hot, remember this for all time. You can change thermal paste, if it not changed at all. But it not gives you thermal decrease too much I think.

Do you use it while its being hit by sunlight? If yes thats yours problem as the exterior of the laptop will absorb the heat, if not try using it in a place with good airflow and try to raise it up a bit, dont rest it on a surface that conductd heat and use it in a cold area to help cooling.
Hopefully my answer helps you.

Yeah, no sunlight or anything, room is just a bit warm. I tried raising it a little but only had 2~3 degrees difference.
I just don't know if this is fine or I should be more worried.
