THG: A bunch of Apple Wh0res

I kid. Seriously though, Chris get some sleep! Tiring yourself out everyday and then getting only 5-6 hours a night consistently isn't good for you. It turns your brain into pudding and gives you the memory span of a fish.

Also, your rigs aren't that bad. Most of you are rocking first gen i5, i7, or PhenomII with decent graphics card. Those aren't too shabby! I myself run a 2nd gen i5, a PII, and an old Pentium D as a HTPC. My mobility is a simple TracFone (so high tech!)

Anyways,

Cheers!

[citation][nom]jaquith[/nom]Though, I find it a very odd that (you) felt the need to display it in the first place?? Like those folks in the forum's with their CPU-z banner signatures.[/citation]

How exactly did you stumbled upon this website? Are you kidding me? seeing the rigs was fantastic. We like those kinda things to be displayed.... and you might have missed it, but the title : "Meet The Editors Of Tom's Hardware (And Their Technology)" has some words enclosed within the the parenthesis. :) Also, that signature you speak of has a important purpose. If you're asking questions or contributing to a thread, it helps others know exactly what system and specs you have in order to better assist you or bring forth relevant points. Not sure what you're doing here to be honest with you.

for a desktop i prefer a windows based system with high end components thatll rip through anything and handle 3 monitors concurrently, for a laptops i prefer macs, phones i prefer predaid android devices, i dont care much for tablets because productivity is almost non existent on all platforms. i need a mouse and a keyboard and something i can hook up an extra 1 or two displays to for even more productivity plus entertainment, port selection and the ability to do 20 things things at once. tablets just dont fit the bill in those regards, i think of them as incomplete

[citation][nom]Cleeve[/nom]Dude! I respect your PC enthusiasm but come on.I'm a PC madman, but even I can admit that Apple makes a decent phone and tablet. I can even buy one if it suits my needs, that doesn't mean I'm drinking the Kool-aid.You don't want to be like the Apple fanbois who throw a gasket when someone suggests that their precious i-whatever isn't gods gift to perfection. It's a slippery slope! Must have balance, DigitalWarlord-San.[/citation]
i agree. im not to keen on ipads or iphones, but OSX is amazing for productivity and build quality is excellent. that being said, my gaming rig is windows based and my preferred choice for a laptop and an OS is a macbook air/pro with OSX

I'm not freaking out in any way, shape or form. Frankly, I couldn't care less what phones, PC's or any stuff or toys you guys use.

Here's a quick tip: the title of the articles usually indicate the subject.
Exercising free will allows you to avoid things you don't want to read... :D

We have the technology!

[citation][nom]jaquith[/nom]Hmm...your 26 posts here vs my 13950 @ TH? I'd ask the same. CPU-z sig's don't help anything and signatures/system specs that are indexed throw-off searching. I don't feel the need to display any of my CPU-z for that reason. It wasn't my point.Have you read any of the latest News and Articles here? Granted some are great. Up to early this year they were perfectly fine, folks got along, they participated, engaged each other, (good stuff), but lately they're (TH) aggravating their user base to the point of you have to ignore a lot of them. The reviews and articles weren't so biased and they jived with other sites findings, but lately ... they don't.So what I'm really trying to do is get the Editors to be Authentic & Non-biased. I've tried 'nice', I've tried 'debate' and nothing's sinking in.[/citation]

You lost me. I just don't see it. Maybe refer to a particular article that really made you hurt. The trinidy benchmarks seemed pretty ok to me. The RoboHornet Pro article was a bit strange, but I tried it myself and I got pretty crazy strange results as well. I read the articles regularly. Nothing extreme, I mean I've seen that some of the writers prefer intel over AMD, at least it feels that way, but it's a subtle feel of tendency. Nothing incredibly bias sorta speak. If you know any one person or group that is not ever ever bias, then you're lying. We're all guilty of it at some degree. I guess what I'm going to assume is, you must be comparing them to someone else. Someone you've set as the God of all test (considering you would have to say that you have access to all the hardware they have access to, to claim you did all the tests yourself). And if you do have other sources, I dare you to say that any computer hardware result is 100% accurate every time. Because to that I would say bull SSShhh.... some computer hardware testing is so complex some times that any little change can can cause a variation of results. I strongly doubt that the exact same rig was used to test anything in different websites. So the results are strongly tied to the testing equipment. I'm sure you're smart enough to understand that concept. Anyway, if you comment again, you won the argument because I simply don't have the time to catch up to your 13950 comments. See ya around buddy.

[citation][nom]falchard[/nom]I don't think the editors of a tech site can be taken seriously when they own so much iShit. Not 1 linux box between the lot of them.Owning a couple Apple products is fine, but owning a MacBook, 3 iPhones, and an iPad is a bit closed off from the wonderful world of options.[/citation]
Would you like me to show you some shots of our lab here? Four i-devices vs. *hundreds* of PC components. I hope that gives you some perspective ;-) This is simply my *mobile* complement of devices, one of which was a gift from my wife. So take it easy.

My desktop PC is powered by AMD's Phenom II X4 920 [/citation]

WHen you switch over to Ivy-Bridge, try using the same GPU configuration for some time and you'll know first hand how much the 920 is bottlenecking your system. I mean I always knew phenoms were much slower but no benchmark data could've described the improved responsiveness and the difference in the experience as a whole. I really respect AMD and what they're trying to do but Ivy-Bridge is just on a different level.

I enjoyed reading a bit about the editors ... Stanislav made me feel very old with his story about the early years when he got into computing.

All of the editors have different strengths and interests which is a great idea for the collective team.

The criticism about spelling and grammar is also a bit unfair when you start to realise often a a few of the good articles we read are not originally done in English ... there is a fair bit of work to translate these ... not always easy.

Patrick Schmid and Achim Roos (two of the very well regarded benchtesters and writers on the German team) wrote many articles which were translated into English.

These guys blew up a lot of Pentium D's, smoked up more than a few Durons along the way ... and a lot of mobos too ... while we watched the videos Bert T made.

Try translating German to English and rewording the sentences so they "come across" with exactly the same meaning ... hard when your trying not to be a fanboi.

I just wanted to alert users to this.

French is even harder ... I got my thread closed over at Presence-PC trying to say hello !!

Then they wanted to keep me as a pet so we kidnapped gropouce (one of their moderators) and made him our ambassader here.

Vive la France !

:)

keep on posing.

The amount of hurt you're obviously feeling because Tom's Hardware editors use some mobile Apple hardware betrays a deep-seeded connection between your self esteem and the brand of computer hardware you use.

You're no different than Apple worshipers who see the world in black and white. You have my pity, it must be a very small world you live in.

Clearly you have no idea what eloquence even means.

But it doesn't really matter any more because I deleted Tom's Hardware from my bookmarks, I'm replying here only because I received e-mail notification.

There are plenty of tech websites out there that eat Tom's Hardware for breakfast, I'm just sorry I didn't realize that earlier.

Keep [edited for offensive content] Apple's [edited for offensive content].

Awww shucks, word policed.

Notice you didn't correct crude, I guess we can agree on that?

If it doesn't matter then why reply to the e-mail notification?

Ooops! System sent you another one huh? :D

It doesn't surprise me that Apple dominates within the mobile category. They are the standard that everyone else tries to match. Same thing over at AnandTech. Most of the writers there own Apple mobile devices.

[citation][nom]blackmagnum[/nom]Russia: Stanislav Vasiliev has the most impressive rig![/citation]
I'll say! That one camera he's holding in his hands is worth more than everyone else's rigs combined.

Dear Editors ... please consider adding an Indian and Indonesian mirror to the site (in the future) and employing teams to manage them?

We have increasing numbers of visotors from India and Pakistan and Bangladesh, as well as Indonesia.

Population sizes for these two regions given their rankings below would indicate these are certainly worthy of merit.

Tomshardware.com’s Regional Traffic Ranks
Country Rank
Philippines 380
South Africa 404
Australia 460
Singapore 484
Canada 485
India 495
Malaysia 506
Pakistan 513
Indonesia 638
Bangladesh 663
Romania 689
United States 736
Nigeria 990
Finland 1,056
United Kingdom 1,369

Can we also have a mirror server for Australia? Just ship it to Perth and I'll stick it up at QV1 and randomizer can run it for you. Ship us crashman in a crate as well ... I'll keep him busy here.

:)
