Microphone won't work in apps.

Basically after the latest windows update my mic doesn't want to work in third party apps. And before anyone asks yes I have tried to fix it heres a rundown- reset windows audio-mic is not broken-sounds>recording>select mic>greem bars are present- latest realtek driver-latest nvidia driver- mic is not muted- apps have permission to access mic.

So please help because this is getting ridiculous.

Open "All settings", click on 'Privacy' and turn on 'Let apps use the microphone'.
Also you could manually select which apps should use the mic.

As stated above i already did that. Also tried different jacks and it still didn't work.

Open Sound and click the Recording tab. Make sure Microphone is Enable.
Click Properties and select the Levels tab.
Set the Microphone volume to a higher value.
Choose the Enhancements tab.
Tick the box beside the Disable all sound effects option and click OK.
Do you get the auto-popup when you plug a device to the audio jacks?
Try going back to previous drivers version or install a different driver version.

As stated above i already did that. Also tried different jacks and it still didn't work.

What kind of mic? is it a headset or a XLR cable mic with a preamp setup?

It's a HyperX cloud 2 headset. Tried everything you suggested and nothing.Also yes there is an auto pop-up in realtek.

have you tried recording a clip using windows sound recorder just to see if windows is in fact getting a input signal in NON 3rd party apps?

Dumb question, but are you making sure the input options within the Apps are selected for your mic?

Also which 3rd party apps are you trying to use the mic on that is not working?

Mostly just multiplayer games and before i never had to choose input options it just did it automatically. And yes I am getting a signal in the recorder section of "sounds".
