Missing Drives

My computer has two hard drives(connected as master slave) and a cdrom and
dvd-r(connected as master/slave)Up until this morning my computer worked as
well as any Windows Computer can be expected to work. Used it, went for
breakfast, came back and it said it could not find NTLDR and to it
ctrl-alt-del. This of course causes it to reboot. Checked in the BIOS and
1 of my hard drives as well as my CD and DVD drives are missing. The only
drive I can find in the BIOS is the drive I use for storage. I know the
reason for the NTLDR error is because it can't find the hard drive with
windows on it. I have seen this happen before when a hard drive has
crashed, but why am I losing the CD and DVD drives?

Since this morning the computer is working sometimes(some times booting up,
sometimes giving the NTLDR error). I have decided to turn it off until I
have a better idea of what is wrong. Thanks in advance.

Never. It is only six months old so I never considered it.

This isn't really a batter issue, but a power issue to the hard drive.
If the hard drive doesn't initialize, then it won't be readable by the
computer. I think the real problem is the power supply, but being only
six months old, you should be able to get everything covered under
warrenty if it is an OEM machine. If you built it, you may want to try
a different PSU if possible.

Thanks, a power supply issue had crossed my mind. Its an older case(power
supply about 2 years old) with new everything else. It is working now, but
who knows what will happen tomorrow.
