so let's see, no dedicated servers and no console. so basically it's gonna be the same crappy console experience and without the ability to create mods. now that the MP isn't a selling point anymore there's no reason not to pirate this game. 60 bucks is too much to pay for SP and spec ops. the only reason u would shell out that money is so that u wouldn't get booted by PB. but now it doesn't matter if u get booted cuz MP is crap anyway. thanks IW. can't wait to cancel my preorder

Wow. Just wow. A year ago I sold my PS3 because I was sick of playing games with those glorified NES controllers and wanted a powerhouse PC to game on. I spent about $2200 on my rig and another $1100 on my 40” monitor (TV). I was so happy that I could now play almost all of the games I loved on PS3 on my new screaming machine with a keyboard and mouse, plus be able to play on dedicated servers, play in huge MP games, and build custom maps. And now it looks like I may as well have kept my PS3 because these games are getting more and more console-like. Great. So now I can play minesweeper in 40” of PC glory.

"We would like you to play the game the way we designed and balanced it."

Translated:
"We would like your money and none of your input. We made it, we enjoyed it and we don't give a rat's ass about how you feel about it as long as we get your money."

Ok I dont see them doing anything else against the consumer to avoid piracy, exploits and modding for lan/online with third party software with all the moves they have made so far without caring for the incovinient of the lacis ppl waiting for the new COD.

Im again announcing that insead of tem asking higher ammount of money for their game , which i admt looks amazing, I will actually make sure this is my first COD i download through torrents and never buy the original. I dont want 9vs9, i want console and i want dedicated stable servers and no worry about somene dissconecting or latency shit while im trying to enjoy my freaking game.

That said as of now ill be googling/binging away for the torrent and get it over with. Hope yo shove the profits where they belong dear infinity or Activision or whoever decided those amusing things announced so far. You just lost a loyal fan and consumer. Hope other dont even talk shit abou it just cause I would admit that the game is amazing other than the factors that made you look so bad to me. Nuf said

for the love of god 9 vs 9, I had my heart set on buying this game even after hearing the dedicated server fiasco but now I promise you I will boycott "paying" for this game. IW basically killed the multiplayer community for this game.

[citation][nom]Ramar[/nom]I love games, and generally agree with you that it doesn't matter what platform it's on, but the PC does matter. We spend hundreds [thousands?] of dollars because for the last 15 years the experience on a console has been child's play in comparison to the treatment we get on a PC. This is coming from someone who's favorite console is the DS. It's not about power or "better graphics", though that is true, it's about having some control over our content. It's about the fact that mods kept half life's engine going for many years after it was released. The PC is the one gaming medium that we have a say in, but that's going down the drain. To be honest, I won't be buying CODMW2, but not out of spite, I won't buy it because I bought every other call of duty game for the multiplayer, and so it's a worthless game to me.[/citation]
That's fair enough. The only reason I'm pissed here is because a lot of people are speaking purely out of spite.

[citation][nom]coonday[/nom]Not to sound like a snob or anything, but just because Infinity Ward omitted a few features does not mean you shouldn't buy this game. It is going to be a great game and you will only be hurting yourself by not playing it. Also, you won't be hurting Infinity Ward financially by not buying the game. They are going to sell copies in the double digit millions regardless. Instead of just complaining about something you haven't even played yet, try buying the game and then tell Infinity Ward what you do and don't like.[/citation]
WRONG At this point IW is going out of it's way to insult, degrade, and ignore it's PC customers. Read the last few IW interviews, you'll see what I'm talking about. This is not the type of company anyone should be supporting because of their most recent actions.

This means we have to tell them it's wrong. Unfortunately at this point, they only speak $$. So the only way to tell them you don't agree with what their doing is buy not buying the game. No, the game certainly isn't worth 60 bucks now, and anyone with sense wont be buying it for PC.

You do kind of sound like a snob but thats ok. Declining sales WILL hurt IW, maybe not so much as to make them stop developing or anything, but the numbers in sales difference of MW1 to MW2 will speak volumes. We're are hurting ourselves by not playing it, we don't need this to be a hit to survive, IW does. And why on earth would we buy a $60 game that we know doesnt have the features we want to tell them about it later?!

Screw Infinity Ward, they are one hit wonders. Name one game they made besides CoD4 that was amazing. Thats right, there is none. They made a couple good games, but only one great. In the words of a little green friend, "This does not a great company make". Anyhow, I was undecided if I should buy this or not. I signed the petition but still felt that I would love to have a run through of at least the single player. Then I thought well I'll just pirate it, but that is also kind of silly as I have always been a supporter of paying for the things I want. Now I am 100% sure that I will not play or purchase this game. I have no doubt that the consolers will enjoy this game, and that is fine. Cheers Infinity Ward, get your money and ride out CoD4 for as long as you can. You greedy sons of bit@&*s.

I like how MW2 360 version was available on torrents before the PC version was. This shift is showing that console gamers have just as much pirating capability as PC gamers.

What are they going to blame now for horrible game sales? I doubt they will take a look at themselves, god forbid they realize they made some really stupid decisions. I'm talking epic stupid too, stupid like the love child of George W. and Sarah Palin. You Betcha!!

200,000+ signatures from two petitons. That is just from two petitions mind you, there are other as well. If you are telling me that IW will not be hurt by a potential $12,000,000 loss of sales you definately need some help.

Where do I sign up?

This game is truly sucking now and I urge everyone to not buy this game.If you have to play this crippled piece of poop pirate it and send this greedbag company a big message that us PC gamers are not stupid.
I doubt I will even pirate this game to tell the truth there are other games to play.

I'm not trying to justify Infinity Ward's actions. They definately have done wrong by raising the price, limiting it to 9v9, and removing dedicated servers. And yes, this essentially is now a console port, but I guarantee you that the millioms of people who bought Call Of Duty 4 for the consoles enjoyed every minute they played it, even without the perks of the PC version. And also, not buying the game is not the only way to show them you disagree with what they are doing.

Sounds like a cheap console port... These guys are as greedy as they come.
First L4D 2 and now MW2. Yeah! Why dont you charge $70 when you are at it, and then cut some more features from the game, lay off some more people and fill up your piggy bank!

Actaully I hated the console version. Went out and purchased the PC version for the multiplayer.

CoD1 was phenomenal. It revolutionized a lot of fps multiplayer concepts. CoD2 had some of the best fps graphics in it's day. Another very important presentation. CoD2 and Oblivion made the Xbox 360 what it is today. Without such a strong launch lineup, the 360 wouldn't have fared nearly as well.

Infinity Ward is a very talented development house. But they've really screwed up this time around. They've forgotten who they're making games for.

Now they're making games for Activision, not the players who have supported them over the years.

No more community made mods, thats the biggest downside to any of these press releases. Mods are what keep a game fresh for ages, just look at how long CS lasted, and even the fact that people are still playing CoD4.

Do you honestly think people would play these games if they had to rely on the tiny fragments of updates we get from the original devs?

R.I.P Call of Duty, you're dead to me now.
