Hi,

My ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q randomly flashes a black screen every now and then. It doesnt happen often but its very annoying when im gaming.

Its a 144hz 1440p monitor connected with the Displayport cable that was supplied with the monitor.

I have tried to:
  • Uninstall and update drivers of both monitor and GPU.
  • Disable G-sync
  • Set refresh rate to 60hz
  • Stress tested PSU, CPU and GPU
  • Disable windows services (Problem Reports and Solution Control Panel and Windows Error Reporting Service)
  • Tried switching screens with a friend who also has a 144hz asus screen, we both found no problems.
  • Switching displayport cables
The problem also occurs when booted into safe mode and when performed a clean boot.

I hope someone has any ideas about what i could try next.

Thank you in advance for your time and help!

Thank you for your reply.
I tried it when i switched with my friends screen, unfortunately the problem still occured
There might be a possibility that both the dp cables are not sufficient but everything works fine with his build.

I might have found a way when it doesnt happen and that is when i set the resolution of the 1440p to 1080p.. But yeah.. thats not really a solution
