So i just bought a new graphics card as an upgrade from my previous one.
Upgraded from a (GT 560) to a (GTX 1050 ti)
I initially had trouble with no video loading on to the monitor(only black screen), so i figured it must have been the video output being defaulted to one i wasn't using.
Unfortunately for my set up, the 1050ti has 3 video ports, DVI, HDMI, and a Display Port. My monitor only has a HDMI and VGA port.
So I tried the DVI connection on another monitor and sure enough it worked.
After uninstalling and reinstalling the cards drivers all my troubles seem to be fixed.
I tested all the video ports on the second monitor to be sure they all worked, all passed.
but upon testing the 1st monitor, the one the computer is intended to use, I am still getting a black screen.
Im wondering whether i should get a new monitor for this set up, or if there is some other way of fixing it before i spend 200$ and upwards on a decent monitor that may work

The monitors in question are
1st monitor: Samsung LED monitor (C570 Series)
2nd monitor: HP 2710m(1920 x 1080@60hz)
Other specs:
Windows 7 (64-bit)
mobo MSI Z87-G43
Intel Core i5-470k@3.40GHz
MSI manufactured GTX 1050 ti

Hello :)
Options to try

Did you download new driver from the Nvida wbsite? I asume that when you changed the display type the computer was off? The system should detect the display on boot. Though

This could be HDCP which is high definition copy protection. If this is the case some GPU you can disable it if the monitor does not support it. Look in the Nvidia CC for this option. I have the same GPU in a win7 system functions normally.

Yes, i download the drivers from Nvidia's website. As for HDCP i see that it is enabled, and that it is compatible with the monitor that works, but i don't see a way to disable it in Nvidia control panel.

You are right, the monitor is not HDCP compatible.

I managed to fix the problem by playing with the monitors setting.
Thanks for putting me in the right direction.
