Motherboard still on after shutdown

Everything is working completely fine, no problems.
Motherboard stays on after shutdown. Also a yellow light stays on. Yellow light is near the power switch, reset sw, led + - ect.

Also I want to find out if this is normal, how to turn it off.

No, I don't have a self powered USB device. Maybe if I keep that option in bios on and wait a while maybe it will finally turn off?
Could it mean something is plugged in incorrectly?
Also some other stuff stays on, such as my portable hard drive.

I will have a look when I turn the PC off next. Lets say that it isn't the problem at this moment. Any other ideas?
Extra information: Motherboard turns off once I turn the switch or pull the plug out. Thought that might be useful noting.

Very unlikely it is the board. It is not even a week old and has been doing it ever since I got it. What are the chances of the board even being faulty.

what happen when you power off via socket the main switch whre your PSU power cord is conencted and when you turn it on the led turn on and hdd too?

So whenever the switch at the back is on and the power cord is connected it stays on. If I was to take the cord out or turn it off power and led turns off.

Unless you unplug the computer or turn off the power at the PSU, the motherboard is always drawing some power. This is, essentially saying, that the system has power available to it. (The MB is not ON, but it is ready to be turned on.)

Other than covering the LED, I don't know how you would turn this off.

Well since there really isn't any solution to turn off the power flow in the computer, is there maybe a way to turn the light off when it is on and off so the light doesn't even emit any color at all times?

you can turn them off in bios settings under ROG
