I would like to get further information on Multi GPU. I was matching my Laptop specs for the upcoming Marvel Avengers game, that was coming this September and noticed the option Multi GPU in Game-Debate.
Now I did check another thread a few minutes earlier. Still, it didn't really cover my curiosity about it, so I wanted to ask it here for further clarification to realize how things are working between Multi GPU.
If Multi GPU means that you have more than one GPU, does this means that if you are using a Laptop, and you have internal Intel Card, your laptop supports multiple GPUs of good quality?
For example, my internal GPU is Intel UHD Graphics 630, and my external (I guess) is Nvidia GeForce 1050 Ti... is that a good thing?
Does the two GPUs work together well, and will it boost my performance? For example, if the 1050 Ti has 4 GB of VRAM and UHD Graphics 630 has 4 GB, does this means that my laptop supports 8 GB of VRAM? It is just a bit unclear for me, all that thing about multi GPU.
Or does it mean that my main card GeForce 1050 Ti, works on maximum and when its capacity is reached it starts taking resources from my internal GPU, which is the UHD Graphics 630?
I did notice that when I ran the test, without the Multi GPU selected, my video card performance will be 50%, while with the multi GPU will be 83%.
My other specs are 16 GB of RAM. I added 8 GB more, last year and my CPU is Intel Core i7-8750H 6-Core 2.2GHz.
Furthermore, will DirectX 12 run on my PC since it is rumoured to work with the two cards at once...
Also, I've been looking around online, if it is possible to update your external GPU on the Asus TUF Gaming to a better video card or is it wielded in the motherboard without the possibility of changing it?
