[SOLVED] need help about psu for new gpu

hi guys can my psu run the gtx 1650 without burning my house down ??? i dont want to worry about it im running gtx 750 oem now
i would like to buy gtx 1650 ventus msi 6pin less edition
my psu is oem fsp unit 250w 80+bronze i think now can i run the gtx 1650 without having to worry about my pc ???

The 1650 uses 25 watt more power than the 750. So it will be close considering 250 watts is lower than the 300 Nvidia recommends for the 1650. I would go with a different PSU.

Fsp is a decent brand for oems at least and that model is 80+ bronze, however 250w is less than nvidia reccomends for the 1650.


I would reccomened upgrading to a quality 300w or more psu with at least 80+ bronze efficiency.

If you cant afford a new psu it probably wont burn your house down.

I couldn't find a review on the PSU so I'd suggest to consider the maximum load that's safe to be around 200W. How old is the PSU?

I agree with remixislandmusic, not a bad OEM for PSUs, but I would too suggest get a good quality 350-450W PSU to make sure it runs the system and the card with no problems for a while.

the psu is about 2.5years old

Not too old, but not ideal and still needs to be replaced.

Id trust that psu for an apu or an ultra low wattage gpu such as a gt730 or gt1030.
A gtx1650 just is a bit of a streatch and in much of the world pretty cheap psus exist that would be much more suited to a 1650.
