Hello!
A while ago I got this laptop that was given to me by my grandfather that was bought during 2016-17 , he had only used it for light work and never really used the GPUs , once it was given to me , I gave my old Dell prebuilt away since it wasn't not very good for my needs and was perfect for his work , I then had the idea to use my second monitor to use 2 monitors (Laptop screen & Monitor) , I used an HDMI cable as that was my only choice to use the 960M and once I plugged it in to the monitor , no signal , I then went on google to look for some ways to fix it , I updated drivers , used different cables and more . I knew that the issue wasn't coming from my monitor or my cable as I previously used my old desktop PC with a DP cable and my PS4 with the same HDMI cable that I am using on my monitor , after days of looking for the issue and how to fix it , I finally got the idea to lower the resolution down to the minimum and keep going up until it lost signal again , I started from 800x600 and it crashed somewhere near 1280x720 or 1280x800 , now here is the catch , on those resolutions a bunch of random green pixels would appear on my monitor and kind of danced everywhere on my screen , and as I was still messing around with the resolutions I decided to try interlaced resolutions , to my surprise 1080i worked ! But here is another big problem... The green pixels would still appear and on the NVIDIA Control Panel it would appear as 1080i30Hz , but the Hz feel like 60 , the most annoying part is something that really annoys me , let's say I am typing a lot just like in this situation and don't move my cursor for a long time (10-20 minutes) after moving it , the cursor would still appear on the screen kind of like a ghost , just like the mark of a hand staying on your skin for a bit after getting slapped very hard , another example is that I don't use games in full screen a lot so my windows taskbar is always out 24/7 , once I am done with my PC and go to use my PS4 on the same monitor the same effect would happen , task bar would appear for a good 10 minutes in a ghost way and then slowly disappear, and right now I am typing and the website's page would still appear once I move to another app ! So I really need some help as I cannot afford to buy another laptop or even a new desktop PC , here are my specs and everything you probably need to know. If you need to know anything else , reply with what you need and I will reply as soon as possible.
CPU : i7-6700HQ / 12 GB RAM / GPU : GTX 960M 4GB , Intel HD Graphics 530 / Windows 10 Family Edition
Monitor : Dell P2419H / Cable used : HDMI to HDMI
Thank you for your time.

You might want to specify the make and model for your laptop as well as it's SKU. You can use the service tag or the serial number under the laptop to locate the laptop you have and it's support page, corresponding to the brand's support site.

Check and see what BIOS version you're currently on and if you have any BIOS updates pending. If you have a number of BIOS versions pending, gradually work your way to the latest. You should then look at reinstalling your chipset drivers. Then source the latest drivers form Nvidia's support site. Once downloaded, get DDU and remove the existing drivers. With the system rebooted, install the latest drivers in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.
