Question New build failure, ez debug cpu light red

I just attempted a new build with a friend. Tried to boot, fans came on but nothing else appears to be happening. The mobo ez debug CPU light is solid red. The GPU is not lit and the 3 fans on it are not running. Currently only running one 8 pin EPS/ATX12V cable for CPU power. Do i need a splitter to run two 8 pins? Or could this be an old BIOS version issue. Or perhaps need to reseat the CPU. Also wondering whether the GPU should be getting power and if theres an issue there as well. Please help!

MSI X470 gaming carbon AMD MOBO
Sapphire Nitro+ 5700XT GPU
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU
Corsair CX 650M Power Supply
Corsair 16 GB 3000MHz DDR4
Deepcool Gammaxx GT Cooler

could be bios issue. did the motherboard box have sticker that said 3000 series supported?

I checked a bit ago and i thought it said 3000 but in fact it says 2000. I took it to a local pc shop to update bios being that i dont have an old amd cpu laying around. Ill know if thats the only issue shortly. thank you for the reply
