forum can't tell difference between answers and questions as far as I know.. it might but there won't be many people who start a large amount of threads themselves.

that trophy suggestion doesn't take any effort, almost everyone would get it in a week or so unless they only ask questions.

Yeah, it is a double pay off for 1 answer, We sort of moved away from that idea.

Also hard to say how system would know if you qualify or not.

"The Leech" - someone who never seeds or contributes to anything should get this trophy lol.

"The Pirate" - similar to the leech trophy except the pirate trophy is rewarded for getting so many strikes before has to be removed from the community.

"The. Heisman" - rewarded for commenting on a post only 1 time and resolving the issue with no further questions needed .

"On Fire" - could be another similar to the heisman relating to the "hes on fire" everyone remembers on NBA Jam

In Kc by the way pleasure to join the group 10+ year tech mainly doing refurb and resale but been teaching myself programming , app dev , system mods, hardware diag and mod (prob hardest so far the mobo repair and diag) but I love IT it's my passion. Example: “Robotic Rabbit” - Earn at least 3 Best Answers in all tech forum sections, Image: Sprinting bunny.

After the submission period ends, a panel of judges will review and select the Top 10 entries, which will then be presented as a public poll for the community to vote on. The top three that get the most votes will be added as new trophies, and the very topmost winner will receive the $100 Amazon gift card.

The Tom’s Hardware Forums New Trophy Contest (“Sweepstakes”) begins at 12 p.m. (noon) Eastern Time (“ET”) on February 14th and ends at 12 p.m. ET on February 24th, 2018 (“Sweepstakes Period”).

ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the United Kingdom, legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia, 18 or older. Employees, officers, directors and agents of Future PLC (“Sponsor”), and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies, including any vendors providing services in connection with this Sweepstakes, and members of their immediate family (spouse, parent, children, siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, are not eligible. Prizes are non-assignable and non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. No one gets rewarded or acknowledged for helping on the web. What a perfect opportunity to recognize and encourage others to give useful / well thought out replies.
:how to win - someone from Toms would have to view topics and judge based on content and advice and pick the winner.
Design: would be a Thank you note or plaque/ Stating thank you for helping / or advising a fellow patron. You're an example of what our society lacks, giving useful advice without any monetary reward. Just a thank you for helping:: Subject name and date
*if i need to really post a visual ad i could. i really dont know the budget or if its an e-trophy or a physical trophy. either would suffice in these ideas.

Obviously, there are very few of you taking this seriously. Going forward, I think we will be looking at cutting out the non-serious entries so don't waste your time.

Further, we might even subtract points from your current scores. Aaaah, just kidding there, but it got you thinking didn't it? Something to keep in mind for less than desirable activities. Loss of points for negative contributions.

Since other tech sites have whole sections dedicated to case and system modifications, and since a whole industry is built around this, again, it's kind of crazy that we have no such area, and would be recommended that we add said area along with appropriate recognitions for those who help in this area for users wanting to get into doing modifications themselves.
