Can attendance be a thing?

Perfect attendance reward after 30, 60 and 120 days with at least 3 answers per day. Attendance reset to 0 after 24 hours without an answer. Just visiting doesn't count.

How can I remove/change my "status" which says Judicious.

The last conversation I had with a mod was when I was having an issue with another member and I suggested the ignore feature. I am glad to see it.

I kind of like that idea. A frequent flier trophy that awards users for continuous daily contributions over a period of time. I like the idea but maybe not mandatory that it be EVERY day. Maybe a set number of posts within a given timeframe that allows somebody to still achieve the trophy if they have to, say, go camping or out of town on business, and can't be on EVERY day. Perhaps a 6 day per month waiver that exempts two days per week for those that have actual lives away from the forum, but still rewards them for making mostly daily contributions desirable.

Name: 1st Post

Trophy: Post it with "1st" written on it

Requirement: Be the first to reply to a thread in the forum and be selected for best answer in that post.

Tom's Harwdware rules says

Don't...
■Post in ALL CAPS or use excessive punctuation!!!
■Share personal information, like your email address. Identify theft is real.
■Bump posts, claim "first!"

Probably not the best trophy to receive as you're getting banned, warned or suspended.

Actually it encourages the exact opposite, the requirement is to be selected for the best answer while being the first one to reply in a thread. Which is the exact opposite of writing First Post which provides no helpful information. This trophy is poking some fun at the whole First Post replies you see.

It has to be only for answers so that members have just one more reason to help others. People could post(and clutter) 3 random questions every day but that doesn't help anyone except the user.

2 free absences each week.

Answering 3 questions takes about 10 minutes or it could take over an hour if you don't have the knowledge base, or the trophy.

15 answers a week still gives people time to live, unless you ramble on and on like I have a tendency to do.

As do I. I am not very good, usually, at one line answers. Just had a discussion about this exact thing recently and concluded by consensus, which I had already felt was true anyhow, that for MOST issues, if they are asking, then they need more than a single sentence in order to not only fix the problem, but also UNDERSTAND the problem so that they won't need to get help for the same issue the next time it or something similar comes up.

Some folks can do this apparently with a single sentence, or for some users that is enough to nudget them towards finding the answer on their own, but for a LOT of visitors, you HAVE to hold their hand and walk them through the process.

They knows his | her Sh__
trophy can be a similar looking picture
When they have x number of points AND Best answers.

Then a little * next to the tophy

followed by a number for the number of times they got the trophy, moderators should be exempt as they already clearly know their sh__

A little mean perhaps this trophy goes away with time so as not to be mean spirited?

Ovation Trophy
Get 25 or more upvotes or likes in threads

Showman Trophy
Get 50 or more upvotes or likes in threads

Maybe if it was just upvotes, we already have 1 trophy for likes - its the popularity trophy
How do you measure upvotes though. is it for upvotes that don't lead to a BA as otherwise, you know, you getting 2 rewards for getting them.

$$$$ - badge to moderator's who devote more time to Tom's hardware then the next best moderator, this can be measured in a number of ways. Replace the number of $$$$ with their current 1, 2, 3, 4 position.

How about an embedded game, something like Yahtzee/poker where guys can play for trophies. A turn based game that doesn't require immediate attention and can have multiple instances with other people so youre not held up for too long if someone is busy.

Probably already suggested as its from old forums:

At home - Set an avatar for user account - 100 points

this will stop forums being full of letters next to posts and show your actual avatar instead.

For those who are not informed enough to be in the know, moderators are not paid staff. We are volunteers, all of which were once normal members like everybody else. So there is no $$$$$ to replace with anything. Kind of silly to think that being a moderator has a direct relationship with being paid or being in a top billboard position. Yes, many of the moderators are some of the top ranked members, but that is nothing more than a result of the MANY hours of contributions and dedication to the community those members have consistently shown. Nothing more. To suggest otherwise is merely a lack of understanding the process.
