If anyone out there has any suggestions as to a p2p file sharing program that is not absolutely choked with spyware, such as kazaa and grokster or morpheus, please be kind enough to let me know. I am sick and tired of having my machine hijacked by these software programs. It's absolutely sickening that they do this to our machines and we have no choice but to stand by and let them... 🙁

I don't have a sharing program for you, but what I do have is a great utility to remove spyware from your machine. Check out Lavasoft's AdAware 6. The basic version is freeware and you'll be amazed at the amount of crap it finds and removes!

Good luck!

thank you for your reply, but i have that program... Your right, it does work great, but if you install a file sharing prog, your comp is just never the same. It packs it so full and installs so much crap its not even funny.

Yo T,

I don't know if this FSP/P2P still is up & running, but "WinMX" had the least amount of built in spyware of all.

Peace Out...............tg

I thought WinMX did not contain any spyware. It works quite well.

Kazaa Lite, people hacked it and it has no spyware or anything bad now. I use it. I recommend it.

Water cooling is for the weak. Get liquid nitrogen.

im not sure why this is in the mobo forum, but ive had good sucess with Kazaa lite.
All the fun of kazaa, with no spyware :)

Kazaa Lite - no spyware whatsoever, it even has improved searching capabilities over standard kazaa.

As already mentioned, kazaa lite is the same program as kazaa but its installer file have been modified to exclude spyware from it.

There are no known way to keep new spyware from installing on your comp, spyware programmers are always looking for a new way to hijack your system.

Spyware Search & Destroy will do just that, you will need run it once in a while, just as you would do with a virus scanner. It's effective, stable and easy to use, it manages to remove all traces of uninvited guests.

Thank you for all your replies everyone!!! The reason this topic is in this forum is that i get no replies in other forums,, I guess they just arent used very much, but anyway, who cares its not going to kill anyone.
As for kazaa lite, where do i get the modified exe? I am guessing kazaa wouldnt feature that on their website?!

just get it from here. Everything you need is there. I got 2.02

Nobody tell U the Mobo section is the new & improved Software section ???

somebody is keeping U in the dark ;-)

(Kazaa Lite looks like a winner here)

Hmmm, wonder if I can get a valid page fault ???
these invalid ones are far too commonplace...

thank you VERY much everyone for saving my sanity from those @#$%^ spyware gimmicks.. i just love how they think its ok to get their software to take over your comp and use your system resources any way they please. They should put a stop to that crap. You pay good money for your comp and buy your isp service, and they invade your privacy. Thats unheard of, </end rant>

Go ahead and get Kazaa Lite and then when you are ready to use something with a little more juice, get WinMX. It's a little harder to use, but it wipes the floor with Kazaa Lite.

Really, have you used the OpenNap or were you just looking on the WinMX Network? Took me awhile to discover the OpenNap, and when I did......!!!! Without using the OpenNap, WinMX is just about like Kazaa.

ummm please fill me in as i have no idea of what you speak of. How and why do you use this "opennap"?

I played with WinMX for a few months, before I knew about kazaa lite, and I thought I liked it. Now I can't stand it, the user interface is a goat rope and the file availability is poor. I found not one Rocky Burnette song the whole time I had it, except for one 'Tired of Towing the Line', but it was queued for ever, then it wouldn't download when it finally got there.

Rocky Burnette never had a CD released, all his stuff is on Tape (rare) or Vinyl (uncommon). I have all the songs I want from kazaa lite, in less than a week (like I said, rare stuff).
