ntvdm.exe starts up after about six minutes from power up. It uses 50% of the cpu when no programs are running. Any ideas on how to stop this? I end the process and it fixes it until the next time the laptop is restarted. Please help.

PS.
I have run antivirus/malware/spyware nothing was detected. I have updated vista to sp1 and sp2. I have cleaned the registry. I have also searched threads and forums via google for a few days now, no luck. Any info would be much appreciated.

Thats what I thought at first, but if it is a virus, it's very passive. I just end the process and then It's good to go. Formatting is def an option, but it would be my last option.

----------------

The problem is that everytime that he turn off and turn on, the proccess will run again...
