Hard to say. On the price front, it's happening now, incrementally, board partner by board partner and retailer by retailer.

The re-specced memory may be in the channel already or it may be starting from the announcement. NVidia has done these types of things both ways. The next week should provide us, at least, some answers. My gut feeling is that it will take a little time to leak down, but I would be happy to be wrong.

Update: Took a look at Newegg, EVGA official site and ASUS official site. Not a peep from any of them on either front.

ASUS Confirmed their cards for GTX 1080Ti.

Just as a point of information, all versions of the 1080Ti use the higher specced 11Gbps memory that is available for the 1080 going forward. The 1060 re-spec will get 9Gbps memory, vice 8Gbps.

not sure how they go this time around. only that i know there is no longer FE that have higher MSRP. now board partner cards also starts at $699 price tag. board partner probably did not like nvidia competing with them selling the card directly but i also think board partner did not like the idea of FE have higher MSRP than standard MSRP because it's like nvidia asking board partner not to sell their card above nvidia FE pricing. board partner also want to make as much profit as they can. some of them simply use nvidia strong branding to justify the high price. take asus for example. i think they were the only one have GTX1060 that is more expensive than nvidia FE($315-$325) and they also launch one of the most expensive 1050ti at $180.

i imagine custom cards probably will not going to make for quite some time. if custom cards available from day one nvidia usually will said so. they did with 1050s and they also did with their past cards such as 980ti. board partner probably did not get the spec until very close to 1080ti release. this probably also done to prevent leaks from coming out. because when leak especially performance comes out they usually coming from board partner cards.

it is just a strange odd prime number for any kind of memory. math geeks theory above sounds plausible tho.

March 10 is what i saw as well. of course this does not mean they will be readily available on this date. like all the new cards EVER, supplies will be limited and prices will be higher than they should be if you jump in right away.

personally it is worth waiting a month or more to let things cool down and for stock and prices to stabilize. but if oyu must jump in day one, please don't come back whining about how everyone is price gouging and there are only 10 cards in a given store and nvidia hates the world and they planned it this way cause they hate you personally and i'm mad now and hate them cause i can't get a card the first second they are available and and and and and and....

gets old really quick when folks know going in they may not get one and will pay dearly if they do 😀

Sorry for the off topic post, but would you mind responding to my PM? :)

@mathgeek:
As you can order the FE directly from nvidia at the msrp, at least the price should be the stable one from the start. And as nvidia has been binning chips since they started producing the titan, they should have a big enough pile not to have shortages if they don't make one artificially. But we will see I guess.

starting to see some product pages for various 1080 ti models. working on adding them in now so you can start checking page 1 for a growing list if you want to see what is being offered. basically the same lines as for the other cards, just with the 1080ti gpu :)

everyone listing FE cards but only Asus shows anything else right now. but no specs to go with them so that sucks 🙁

In a weird spot. I put a whole new build together with black Friday deals. Then the 1080ti didn't come out. Now I have all new parts except my old 560ti. I'm pretty sure I'll buy a 1080 ti as soon as I see a non FE I like that fits in my case, but I want one to make the jump from my cheap 1080p monitor up to 4k. I know the sweet spot is 2k and 144mz but I don't want to drop a bunch on a new monitor with the 4k 144hz option coming soon. At the same time a 1080ti to drive my 1080p monitor is equally stupid. I feel in limbo.

Is there anything even speculative about when we'll see the next monitors? Otherwise maybe there are 4k monitors that don't break the bank at 60hz that would make more sense as my only monitors have been 60hz so far anyway?

I had heard that ASUS and Acer had 4k, 144hz monitors coming out Q2 of this year. Expensive as hell though.

friday i believe is the relase day. not that they will be in stock very long but friday is the official release day for them. FE and custom cards if i read right

Can someone make clear about 1080 Ti (see "Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition, Unboxed") - why:
Pixel Fill Rate = 140.8 MPix/s
Texel Fill Rate = 358. MTex/s?

According to Base Clock Frequency (1480 MHz) it should be:
88 x 1.480 = 130.24 MPix/s
224 x 1.480 = 331.52 MTex/s

Even with Maximum Clock Frequency (1582 MHz):
88 x 1.582 = 139.22 MPix/s
224 x 1.582 = 354.37 MTex/s

Am I not right?

What's gona be cool is that card will have ICX tech, so each fan will independently cool parts of the daughterboard.
