aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry had to do that , I have had a E6600 sitting on my desk since the week it came out.

Was the lucky ones to have one on the firtst week but have been very unlucky with the board.

you are not unlucky, nobody has that board yet so there is no reason to say unlucky. Once its released and you miss it and stores say you will have to wait a week to get it, then you can say you are a unlucky guy 😉

It was expected to be out one month ago, it wasnt an official date.

AND

we still dont have an official date cuz it might be released on the 18,19,20,21 or 22 and we dont know if ASUS is gonna delay it more!

Is not important to you because you didnt make it. And because is maybe one of the longest one you have ever seen. Is not gonna die as you say cuz I will make it last more than what you think.

This board is not even out and we have 27 pages, after it comes out we will post experiences, reviews, news, aspects, customs rigs, any other data etc

I simply call and bug the crap out of them until they tell me whatever I want to know in order to get me off the phone. Whatever works, right? However, the only reason I pre-ordered the board was to get more information from them. I paid by "check," so they don't have my money, and whenever they do receive stock, they'll call me to get my credit card number (even though I was never planning to pay them insane amounts of money for it in the first place)

Hehe I guess all is not lost. I asked excaliberpc what # I was and questioned their pricing and regarding they cancellation policy. Response from excaliberpc:

"There are about twenty-one customers before you on the pre-order list. The price on the initial shipment will stay at $299 due to limited quantity released. You will be informed by one of our sales about order fulfillment as soon as the first shipment comes in. You are free to cancel the order anytime as long as we are notified before hand. Thank you."

Since I'm #22 and zzf is charging same amount, I think I'll stick with excal for now to see how well they service. I SHOULD be getting the first batch thats released

vaporboard. good luck finding one in stock anywhere even IF they do release it. It's been weeks and weeks now since the p5w deluxe was released and you still cant find one in stock anywhere (at least for under $300) *cough ZZF* so i hate to see the lead time on this underachiever. hope it oc's alot better than its 570 counterpart, but i wouldnt hold my breath.

Wow, lots of replies. I'm going to try to sum up my comments in one short post.

I would be floored if the delay on the motherboard was because they were switching to C55 parts instead of C19. That would justify it in my opinion. Anyone remember Halo 2? The fun was in the waiting, the game itself was a flop, IMO - compared to H1. (NO MORE OFF-TOPIC)

I am in no hurry for this board I guess, injuries have put me out of work for a bit longer so I haven't a load of spending cash for a bit until I can get back to it. Until then I have Mountain Dew, my sweet laptop, and hard-boilt squirrels. You guys need to think lower end on the RAM, IMO DDR2-800 is the FASTEST I would consider putting in this board. That's even overkill for overclocking... Unless you put it into a divider and underclocked it.

CloakedHunter, I would like to mention good work on all of your findings, it seems that you are one of the main posters of cutting edge new information. Now I must get back to making my list of parts for a case mod I am doing. Need some glass... paint... more paint... fans...

Dont ya think ASUS is taking long to release because they want to make a "Perfect" BIOS? As they know they might not get enough profits because of C19? They might be improving the motherboard before of its release!

I'm still hoping the delay is caused by switching/implementing c55 or at the least BIOS tuning. If those 2 are the reasons, I'm expecting the board to be near perfect, if not perfect, in the stability department.

The general vibe I get from the community was Asus was a very good company back in the days (like when I bought nforce 2 from them), and they have be gradually declining in quality. Personally I don't care about brand preference, I care about what I get out of paying good money. I'd say the only reason I'm still waiting for this Asus board instead of going with say DFI is because of their recent BIOS breakthrough of unlocking the multipliers.

That shows me the initiative the company is taking to improve things and I hope they don't dissappoint us with this new board (unlike the se deluxe junk)

I did not mean to offend you slim142. I just thought that as soon as everyone had their boards we would all be too busy gaming to post. The topic is broad enough to encompass experiences, reviews, etc. So this thread will last a LONG time after the boards are out.

I don't plan on overclocking so I am not waiting for C55 either.

luckily for me, I can careless for kentsfield, no real world gains for gaming (which is all I do). By the time most gaming software are encoded for multithread, it'll be time for another upgrade anyway

For other peeps though....so sorry if this is true

im shamed i just gave up waighting i got the ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP. i figured i will use it till the C55 comes out and has all the bugs worked out in the next 4 or 5 months but we will see. it was 239 when i get the c55 i will sell it for prob 150 200 prity quick so it will not be lying oround collecting dust. that is if i can get away with that price.

Me either, I just spent $338 on a conroe processor. Add to that videocard, hard drive, memory etc. I dont think to upgrade to Kentsfield. Its just gonna be stupid to get a kentsfield when the prices are so high and you dont even need that perfomance.

I have a question

My friend got tired of waiting too, he asked me what ASUS board to get.

He wants either a 975 chipset or 965 chipset

But when I got into the ASUS website I saw many boards with these chipsets so I dont know what to tell him. I saw P965, G965, some 975 but the thing is that my friend told me

"Get me the best ASUS board, I dont care if it is a 965 chipset or 975 chipset, I just want the best board with any of those chipsets cuz im tired of waiting"

so my question would be which one is the best to choose out of all the ASUS boards?

I just read this (I read ir before but forgot to mention)

Intel puts pressure on Taiwan mobo companies about RD600 chipset and NVIDIA's C19 nForce 590 SLI Intel Edition faces uncertain future

The future of Intel Core 2 based chipsets is uncertain right now as the industry is shaken up by various new business projects, such as the merger between AMD and ATI.

The word in Taiwan, where I live and run my site TweakTown.com, is that the high-anticipated ATI RD600 Conroe chipset is only going to be provided by one motherboard manufacturer, DFI. According to my sources, Intel has been putting pressure on Taiwan motherboard companies not to produce RD600 based motherboards. DFI stood up to the Intel giant and mentioned to us that they’ll be the only company providing an RD600 board, the DFI Lanparty RD600. This seems like a real disappointment for ATI as RD600 was set to be a bigger seller for the Canadian company with FSB speeds set to reach 480MHz and above – much higher than 975X and the C19 nForce 590 SLI Intel Edition chipset. DFI’s Lanparty RD600 motherboard will be on shop shelves sometimes next month but we’re not sure on an exact date yet.

We’ve also been hearing reports about the upcoming nForce 590 SLI Intel Edition chipset for Core 2 processors. This chipset is based on the now aging NVIDIA C19 chipset which some Taiwan motherboard manufactures are not impressed with. In fact, NVIDIA recently issued an announcement to motherboard companies saying that the C19 chipset will be phased out very soon and replaced by the newer and more refined C55 chipset in October. The C19 chipset maxes out at around 350MHz FSB which is one of the main reasons the Taiwanese folk were not impressed with the chipset, especially the companies interested in producing highly overclockable boards – and that’s most companies these days. With Intel’s P965 chipset, while not as fast as 975X, we’ve seen reports of the FSB hitting the 500MHz FSB mark. There are no official testing numbers on C55 FSB overclocking but being a refined chipset using newer technology, it is expected to beat the older C19 easily.

Please read this one more time....

The most important thing from this parragraph was

C19 chipset will be phased out very soon and replaced by the newer and more refined C55 chipset in October.

So, I think this means good news? Delays? Maybe ASUS re-called the Premium boards to remake them with C55 and release them in middle october? If my predictions are true, then Im the happiest man standing in the world.
