yea.. i was looking at those prices. and im kinda pissed since i pre-ordered from excaliberpc.com.

i mean, ive ordered from excaliberpc.com before which i why i was compelled to pre-order from their site, but damn, im wasting about 40-50 dollars?

anybody know if they really hold to the "once its charged, you cant cancel" rule? cause thats kinda wack. there should be a loophole especially since they kept moving back the ETA.

also, with this price drop. anybody else think that it dropped since they know that they will be releasing a revised board that does contain the C55?

just looking for some answers.

Look, this is all im gonna say

if you are desesperate and you just want the p5nsli to use sli, you will not get the perfomance you want. remember on the 570 the videcards will run at x8 each one. so its kinda dumb to buy that board.

I would recommend just wait for the P5n32 premium, even if it is released with c19, it will be way better than the p5nsli and you will have sli at x16 in both cards

Could you point to a board much under $300 (that you can buy today) that supports Conroe and 2X16 SLI?

Can't you call your credit card issuer and have them reverse the charge for reasons of non-delivery? In some states, suppliers are not allowed to post the charge until the goods or services are delivered (shipped).

Everyone needs to understand that the price has not dropped. Those sites that initially listed the board simply took an estimated price and increased it ridiculously, knowing demand is high and people will pay such a high price. The MSRP is $220, and now that more than just a few sites are listing the board, prices are becoming more accurate.

The individual who is able to contact our distributor was unavailable today, so I'll try to get more information again tomorrow. Maybe the boards will just arrive before I find out they shipped.

You think it'll be wise for me to cancel my pre-order with excaliberpc and place an order with buy.com and save ~60? I'm kinda afraid of not getting my board if I do that since im like #22 in line to get it from excal.

See what happens when you want to be the first one getting it before doing a great research?
I would just do this, cancel your order (be serioues with them) or just get it and returned the same day. ( I dont know if that is possible since you said that webpage is so restrict about their policy)

Or, wait until we see any news cuz you might be getting C55(yay) or in the bad way if you get C19 and you dont like it just sell it on eBay the same day you will get at least a 15% profit.

OMG new pictures of the whole box and inside

You should probably read previous posts. A few days ago, I posted indicating that ZipZoomFly posted those pictures on their site. And, it's doubtful that Excaliber will receive 22 units. Quantities are extremely limited. Our distributor (who is likely the same distributor for all of these other resellers) is expecting 500 units initially. That is next to nothing considering how many orders they will be receiving. Your best bet is to place an order within the first five minutes of some site making the product available. I'd use a stock notification feature to send an e-mail to your cell phone. Of course, now that I said that, everyone will do it.

This motherboard is gonna be hard to get but not as hard as the conroes cuz remember most people is using them with 975 and 965s so... expect to get yours no later than 2 weeks after its release because quantities are limited but they will ship more, I know is not gonna happen the same thing as happened with conroe

Well, I guess as soon as it's released, I'll check if excaliber sent mines out. If they didn't then that means I won't get it for awhile and it'll be pointless to pay that premium. At that point I'll just cancel order and get in line at another site for $60 less :?

As you've just found out... preordering anything is stupid because you give up all your freedom of choice, for what? I mean, what happens if you preorder from A, but B gets in the item cheaper and sooner... you're screwed. you don't gain anything by preordering either. If its a really hot item MAYBE you get the item before they have to re-stock, but prices nearly always come down a lot almost immediately once an item arrives in stock.

Have you actually tried calling excalibur and telling them that you want to cancel? I don't think they can force you to go through with the purchase if they haven't sent anything out yet and if they keep changing the ETA date, because the ETA date forms a sort of contract of intent.

They might try talk tough, but legally they are in a grey area... If they absolutely won't give in tell them you will recover the money directly from the credit card company as internet fraud.... Most credit cards cover internet fraud or non-delivery on internet purchases afer 90 days wait. The credit card companies hate paying out though so they will also give the supplier a very tough time on your behalf.

Excalibur may give you a refund if you stay polite but firm and come across as well-informed of your rights, because they don't want the hassle of pissing off a credit card company. If they do it too many times they will have to pay more per transaction or even lose their account with that brand (amex, visa etc). That would leave them dead in the water as an internet sales organisation relies on being convenient to the buyer so being able to process credit cards of all types.

If you read my post from last page, I'm in same boat as you. I took the initiative and emailed them regarding my concerns on that BS policy that most likely is illegal and is just a way to keep charged items, charged.

The manager replied my email as such:
"There are about twenty-one customers before you on the pre-order list. The price on the initial shipment will stay at $299 due to limited quantity released. You will be informed by one of our sales about order fulfillment as soon as the first shipment comes in. You are free to cancel the order anytime as long as we are notified before hand. Thank you."

On the asus website the P5W DH Deluxe and P5W64 WS Professional both use intel 975x chipset and the text says they have multiple x16 slots, but I expect they'll turn out to be 2x8 or whatever in SLI as (at least a while ago it was true) nothing other than nVidia chipsets actually have 2 full 16-way PCI-e slots.

THe other problem is that only nVidia chipsets are meant to be able to do sli, but I keep seeing odd posts around that say you can actually do SLI on intel 975X but I've not actually read any explanations on how yet though. Does anyone here know?

.. I think its dumb to have a CPU on yur desk and be waiting for a MB to be released..

Yeah I know what you mean.
It was time to upgrade my pc ( 2.53 Ghz p4 northwood, 533 FSB, rambus ram, 6800 ultra agp)

I wanted to build a hard-core upgrade ( core 2 extreme, SLI'd DX10 quad nvidia gpus, 590 intel ed. mobo, dual 150GB raptors in raid 0 and 2GB of DDR2-8888 )

I got as far as getting the cpu and raptors but frustratingly still nothing else is available even though its all been promised and reviewed and 'for sale but none in stock' for months all over the internet.

I got fed up with looking at my new stuff still sat in boxes so I bought an ASrock dualVSTA775 mobo and a gig of cheap ddr2 so I could run my old agp 6800 ultra with the new core 2 extreme and raptors at least. The mobo was only $55 so I'll just toss it when I've got a 590 mobo and some DX10 GPU's in my hands.

Actually I had some initial setup issues with incorrectly detected/incompatable ram timings/voltages in the bios but once I got it configured right the ASrock mobo (and whole system) has been rock solid ever since. The mobo is not a bleeding-edge performer but for a $55 board its very impressive. Even now my new setup is way faster than what I had before. Still can't wait to finish the job though 🙂

I wish I did the same as you but I had a 7950 XXX and that does not go on the asrock board.

Hopefully another week and we will have it.

I spoke to Excaliber, and they are now expecting (hoping) to receive shipments on 9/22 or next week. According to them, Asus keeps delaying initial shipments to distributors. And, I am still trying to get details from our distributor. Honestly, I don't think Asus is informing anyone at this point, even distributors. My opinion is that it will either be available very soon, or much later.

Asrock has PCI-e and AGP.. what the problem? But then if you've already got a PCI-e GPU you have a lot more/better choices for a throw-away mobo until 590 comes out.

hacked drivers enables SLI on 975. If you really want it that bad, you'll be able to find it with some digging 8)

Is it a patch tool that works on any driver version, or just a hack of a particular(i.e old) version of drivers? I'd like to stay hacked and current 🙂

alright. i think im gonna give excaliber another couple days. i dont really care i guess about the extra 60 or so dollars.

but.. if i do cancel.. and go to say.. like buy.com or something. im pretty sure my wait for the board will be extended.. which leads me to..

is there any cheap cheap boards.. i can buy to use in the meantime?

that can use.. PCI-e x16, DDR2 800Mhz, SATA.. LGA775 for either the conroe E6300 or this Pentium 4 531 that i have just sitting here collecting dust...

I became tired of waiting so I purchased the P5NSLI.I have a E6600 chip 2gig corsair 8500 galaxie 1000psu 2 7800 GTX'S .The board runs well but is extremely unstable when overclocking.I have two raptor 150s which I AM UNABLE TO RUN IN RAID DUE TO BAD NVIDIA SCSI RAID DRIVERS.Luckily my fx system is still up and running or I'd be without a computer. The E6600 is a remarkable processor but for sli I'd sure recommend waiting for the 590's.
