It seems Asus has also added some new downloads for the P5N32-SLI Premium, including some BIOS revisions. They've also finally listed the board in the CPU support database, with all CPUs listed as supported since BIOS version 0306 (the latest revision, which was just posted yesterday). This explains what has been causing the delays. They've just been fixing a bunch of bugs. Any else a bit nervous now?
Version 0303 2006/09/18
P5N32-SLI Premium BIOS version 0303
1- Enhance compatibility with some CPU.
2. Enhance compatibility with some memory modules.
3. Fix sometimes AI-Booster instable issue.

Version 0306 2006/09/18
P5N32-SLI Premium BIOS version 0306
1. Support new CPUs. Please refer to our website at: http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx
2. Fixed that sometimes it fails to enter Windows after finishing installation on WinXP SP1
3. Enhance compatibility with some CPU.

jeez who writes their product descriptions?

> But what we care is not only performance, it's also about realistic. Extreme HD gaming with the highest resolution that feels like the enemy jump out of the screen,

Ahh so... the 590 is also about realistic. I can't wait to experience the enemy jump feeling. All your base belong to us.

> features with DTS surround sound, sounds like the enemy is just around.

Just around. What just standing there ? Why aren't they jumping now? After parting with 300 bucks just for a mobo, I'd demand multiple realistic enemy jump feelings.

Seriously though , does anyone know if this still uses the old C19 chipset that is crappy for overclocking or if during the delay they found time to replace it with the new C55 ?

I wish I did the same as you but I had a 7950 XXX and that does not go on the asrock board.

Hopefully another week and we will have it.

Asrock has PCI-e and AGP.. what the problem? But then if you've already got a PCI-e GPU you have a lot more/better choices for a throw-away mobo until 590 comes out.I wrote to asRock and they said it wont be able to take the 7950 GX2 , only one card will work

Also I wish there was something in the media that would indicate that its had a new switch to C55 but you probably know better than me in your searchin the internet.

The CON is on.

Official BIOS support for all processors is listed at 0401.. just posted 0306 from 0303. Are they telling us they still have some work to do (as in dont expect your 18th or 25th release dates) ?

I also would like to know if any of the "soon to be released" boards are C55. I've been patiently waiting but I'm feeling it wearing a bit thin lately. I'm anxious to build but really want to see more variety in mobos.

Argh its killng me. Why can't they just say whether its going to be C19 or C55 so I know whether to get excited yet :?

oh great ! just yesterday i had seen the cpu support, and the bios wasnt 0401 but another. just as long as these boards work when we get them i'll wait another ummm day ?

by the way, i just accesed ASUS's FTP to see if their new bios was available, and guess what ? they're isnt crap there 😛 only up to BIOS 0306 (which was released two days ago)

thank you for that laugh that was great

The c55 is not scheduled for release until the end of the year by Nvidia. So unless Asus has built a Time Machine there is no way the p5n32sli will have it at release.

though:
In fact, NVIDIA recently issued an announcement to motherboard companies saying that the C19 chipset will be phased out very soon and replaced by the newer and more refined C55 chipset in October. LINK TO FULL

that being said.. and it being very very close to october as it is.. its not IMPOSSIBLE that it could include the c55, though i would think its improbable.

Also the memory for the board on Asus's site is specified as "Dual-channel DDR2 800(OC) /667/533". If they were using the C55, they wouldn't need to OC up to 800, right?

Huh, everything was listed as version 0306 the first time I saw the page available. Changes that often tend to cause an uncomfortable feeling. At least 0401 is a nice rounded-off release-appropriate version. It's also good to see the press release finally posted. And, most of the other drivers for the board are now posted as well. All signs point to near-immediate release.

hrmm.. i just saw that.

does the OC next to 800.. imply that we cant use 800 normally?

for instance, the Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 2GB Kit DDR2-800.. that i have chilling on my desk?

Once again my decision has changed again hehehe... I will do the samething you will do. If ASUS releases the P5N32-SLI with C19 then Im gonna wait for C55. There is not pressure to buy the C19, since I can instead buy the videocard and memory. Also, If they release the Premium board with C55, then Ill get the motherboard first.

It is very possible that it is gonna be releaased with C55 because YES is true that C55 will be released on October. Read Dailytech and you will see...

alright .. so can we use normal DDR2 800MHz memory?

also.. if you check out ExcaliberPC.com's P5N32-SLI Premium page.. they took off the ETA.. hrmm? but its still on preorder. what thinks you?

though.. other websites.. such as keenzo.com and pcsuperdeals.com are listing an ETA of 10/20/06.. uhh thats a month away?!

hrmm.

"Coming Soon, release has been confirmed ! Customers with a Pre-order status will have first priority in allocation."

coulnt they just say when the first shipment is? coming soon could mean tomorrow, next week, within the next month..

i wanna know the exact date! heheh

but i guess im happy that they confirmed the release and that its not just a scrapped project as some thought.
