:? "Coming Soon, release has been confirmed ! Customers with a Pre-order status will have first priority in allocation."

That sounds more like a "Uh we know its coming out but we don't know when, so instead of an ETA we'll say coming soon!"

and no shit pre-order has 1st priority -_-

I feel like just canceling my pre-order and get a p5b-E

Ummm slim what about this statement....?

What about NVIDIA FAQ page? First early august, then mid-august, then mid-end august, then more delays.

Excaliberpc is a retail store and they cant say nothing because they want to get rid of the thousands of email they receive from us asking them when are they going to release the 590. Samething when Tigerdirect was selling conroes, they told every single person a different thing...

Unfortunately, I have yet to receive an update from our distributor, still, which is making me angry. An easier contact, Excaliber PC, just informed me that Asus is expecting shipments today. Therefore, Excaliber (just down the street from Asus) expects to receive stock either "tomorrow or early next week." They confirmed that this information is "solid" and not just more guesswork that we have received up to this point. They are expecting a total of "more than 30 units" from various vendors, which is more than they seemed to expect earlier. Now as long as a certain distributor gets my boards to me with a quickness, I'll be happy.

OK, I went ahead and e-mailed Mr. Ray about the release date and the chipset. Here is his reply:

"The board will have the C19 chipset. We will have the C55 support down the line. It will be released today or tomorrow."

So there you have it. :?

this on excaliber's page:

* We have received numberous inquries about the chipset on P5N32-SLI PREMIUM/WIFI-AP and here is the answer to it.

Chipset: C19 SLI X16 / MCP55
Branding: NF590 SLI SPP/ MCP
Release Date: Soft Estimate: 2-5 Days

this sucks for whoever wants to overclock, and i guess thats were buying an EE gets its benefits (just change multiplier and not mess with FSB)

Fresh and new decepcioning info... Since people starting to say it had C19 everybody turned their back to this motherboard. nobody wants it now. Only few... Lets wait my fellows for C55

well.. though im around #50 on the excaliberpc.com list.. my friend is #2 at pcsuperdeals.com.

but he just talked to customer service. and they still have an ETA of 10/20.. which sucks. hopefully they get it when everyone else does. i cant think of a reason why they wouldnt.

anywho, OC'ing this baby wont be that great.. im sure you could.. a little.. but dealing with FSB wont give that great of results.

im not an OC'r myself so.. i dont really care much. wouldnt know where to start. but if someone here could guide me later. ill give it a try.

you wont go higher than 300mhz, and if you do, it will be very unstable.

I want P5N32-SLI Premium Rev B or Rev 2 or Premium VIP or Premium Improved or whatever name is gonna have the ASUS board with C55

I finally received an update from our distributor. Their current ETA is now 10/20. This explains why some sites are now listing that as their ETA. However, I have no idea why this ETA is so distant, especially since Asus has confirmed multiple times that the board will be released within the next couple days. It doesn't make much sense.

what else is different in the c55 in comparison to the c19 ? we know that the c19 sucks at overclocking , but what does the c55 bring that makes it different other then better overclocking ? ?

Man I was all enthusiastic about the Premium board when it was announced and it seemed so perfect and everything that I could ask for was there. Now all of this C19 vs. C55 stuff has sprung up. I know people have been saying October is now the magic month for nforce590 w/ C55 but does that actually mean October? Seriously? I would doubt it. Is something so small really worth waiting for? And with an unknown benefit? Even with C55, I don't think that the overclockability of an nforce board would beat that of a board with P965 of today, or whatever Intel releases between now and the eventual release of C55. How big of a difference would it make? We here have probably done more research into this board than 90% of the people that are actually going to buy it anyway. It's not like OCing on a Premium would be terrible; not the best, but surely not terrible.

Isn't the biggest feature of the Premium the fully-fledged official SLI support, with overclockability second to that? The P965 boards are the other way around, putting better overclocking before SLI (at least official SLI that is) which seems to be more like what some people are looking for judging from the amount of times people mention C55 (an overclocking feature, if anything).

I guess what I'm saying is that if you were looking simply for the best overclocker, you would be buying a P965, and not really even considering the P5N32* line. If you prioritized SLI, you would get the P5N32 Premium C19 or C55 without much fuss over having one or the other as the core feature of the board is kept the same. Or I guess you could try to have both features on an unknown, unreleased, and unnamed board that is somewhat faster and will be out eventually.

lol sorry about ranting, too

I'm all for waiting for the new chipset.. Question is, how long will the wait be..? Nvidia releases c55 in October.. How long will it then take Asus to implement the c55? I wouldn't be suprised if it took till the middle of Q1, maybe Q2, 2007 to show up.

8O well I made my decision. If this board doesn't ship by monday from excaliber, I'm canceling order because I need my pc built by next week.

I knew there was a reason I was sticking to this damn board... I almost forgot about the 3rd pci-e slot thats supposly for nvidia's physic card (that's like 2+ years maybe? just guestimating no info). Was part of my "built for more future proof" plan haha...

now, in case this board doesn't get shipped friday/monday, should I get a p5w dh, p5b deluxe, or a badaxe...hmmm...

ADD: I know this thread isn't for advice, but which board will put my corsair xms2 pc6400 c4, one 7950gx2, and e6600 to best use? I've read on most of the boards, but would like a recommendation from experts.

Just a thought... is it possible that the 10/20 date refers to a C55 revision of the motherboard?

When explained the way our friend neoneucalyptus explains it, it makes lots of sense to pick an alternative to this board for overclocking. I have never overclocked before, and I would like a board that will let me push my experience and expand my knowledge with. This board irritates me, and I feel I speak for many when I say the release date is UNKNOWN, and a lot about it is still IN THE DARK.

I feel like I have been pulled along for 2 months now...

The old BIOS could not run ddr 800 whilst they claim they can run this at DDR2 800 OC , so something is different about this OC , also it does not run SLi memory.

I just need a review to see how it performs

so you know for sure this board wont run EPP aka "sli" memory? I thought nvidia was using this board as a selling point for EPP as it will be the 1st to use it. Even the reference board with crappy immature bios was able to use it.

I have lost hope in this board and I am ordering a P5W64-ws and cancelling the P5N32-sli.

I am scared that it wont even run the quad core cpu , so I am going for something that will.

Sli is not going to happen, also after this couple of months I do reckon Nvidia should start supporting the Intel chipsets. I am going to get another board after 5 months and just use this one thill then. A more matured C55. I reckon it might just scrape 380FSB now , cos of the 800 OC they have written which would be 400FSB , but lets see how it does on the review.
