a representative from pcsuperdeals.com said that they updated their ETA to 10/27/06. sooo.. i dunno.

anybody know anything of the P5B Deluxe?

Thats end of october! well I dont even know why I care... they already announced that the current Premium will have C19...

...but

I just hope they make the right thing and this is just an announcement, so then the possibilities to have C55 will increase :)

new motherboard has three x16 slots, not two;
see model number just above DIMM slots.

Taipei, Taiwan, September 20, 2006 – ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS), the worldwide leader of motherboards, today introduced the P5N32-SLI premium/WiFi-AP, which leveraged Quad-SLI technology, Intel's Core2 Extreme support, and a third PCI Express x16 slot for Nvidia's upcoming Physics card to deliver superior gaming realism.

Hmmm I think that is already known. But here is something even MORE important

Most people are saying that this PCI Express port is reported to work at 2x or 4x so this means slow perfomance and not something we expected. Anyways, nVidia Physics card will make a difference in the gaming market, bring down AGEIA's sh*t and it will be released on PCI-Express so this means whoever has a p5n32-sli premium board will have a great gaming perfomance with the right components.

I wonder if they would do something on C55 (like increasing this third PCI-Express port to 8x) so we can have even a greater board.

I love perfomance... but as you say, perfomance (in this case getting a third faster pci express slot) costs $ so thats why I dont say those three first words too ofter hehe :)

I dont give a crap about ASUS, they are only good for motherboards. Im not even interested on getting (trying to be more specific) their videocards. And if I have to get a Physics card, then I would get the NVIDIA one to have a great SLI+phycics pc.

I would love if C55 comes with a third PCI-Express physically size of a x16 slot working at 8x so when physics cards come out, if they come out in x2 speed, we will be able to use it. even at 4x. And we will be able to upgrade to 8x physics card if they ever come (cuz they might just skip and go to 16x hehe)

I wouldn't get anything from Asus besides mobo either. The point of my previous post is to point out to you that the physic card is 1X. So in terms of you worrying about that slot being 2x/4x/16x probably isn't necessary. It's just like how software doesn't even fully utalize 8x/8x bandwidth for SLI/CF and people are worried about getting 16x/16x for multi-gpu

Sure it does. Check the review benchmarks between GPU on X8 and GPU on X16.

Also I don't wanna buy a new mobo now that is too slow for crysis or whatever.

Just to clear this up, the P5N32-SLI Premium/WiFi-AP product page states: "The unique 3 PCIex16 slot, reserved one additional slot for GPU Physics card when running Quad-SLI™, the experience can't be more real. "

what if it is some cheap ass lie like the ones that always happen?

Geez I hope not, although they may be twisting the facts a bit. I took another look at the manual, and here's what listed for Expansion Slots:

2 x PCI Express x16 slots (blue and black) support NVIDIA SLI technology at full x16, x16 speed

1 x PCI Express x16 slot (middle) supports an add-on card at x8 speed

1 x PCI Express x1

2 x PCI 2.2

I wouldnt trust that either. Remember that if you go to the BIOS download page, they have some 0102 version when the actual board uses a 0302 version and ASUS just announced a 0306 version.

Anyways, if what you are saying is true, then we are in good shape :)

Hopefully some more good news... The download page BIOS section is now up to version 0401.

Why do they keep saying "improved... with new CPU's? Are they refering to the new Core 2 Duo CPU's? If so, Shouldnt the Core 2 Duo Cpu's be their first priority? Why do they keep fixing bugs related to new CPU's (in this case new cpus would be C2D)? This is crazy. Core 2 Duos should have been their first priority.

Well anyways as long as they know they didnt do enough tests before releasing the board, is good. But what I dont like is that we have had like 4 BIOS revisions in the last month and the board is not even released.

I think I'll believe what Wusy said unless you can link me some benchmarks stating otherwise

Wait til 12 to see, that's my recommendation. I speculate they are on pacific or mountain time, therefore a few hours behind?

dont ya hate waiting....

im not good at waiting, thats why i bought the P5B delux to build my core2 system. Was going to wait until the 590 intel came out but realised that when it did it would probably sell out before i could get my hands on one and i'd have to wait on back order. screw that.

plus i lost allot of enthusiasm when i heard it wouldnt have the new northbridge. So yeah ended up with the P965. although im happier now i hear its going to have crossfire support evensualy
