My guess is that they screwed up when they added this item to their site and listed it as "in stock". After folks started ordering it they realized the mistake and corrected it.
I can't believe that they would receive this board before other retailers. As far as I know no one as this board in yet.
I will know for sure on Monday when I call.

October 2 is when we are gonna see or oct 4 at last. im getting tired of the board. i want to see reviews and everything and they are taking so loooooooooooong!

It seems as though the recent discoveries of "in stock" quantities may not be so inaccurate. From what I've seen, I'm guessing some distributors may have received stock near the end of the week. I'll be confirming this with our distributor on Monday. Asus told me the board would be released at the end of the week, meaning retail availability would likely commence at the very end of the week, or into next week. I'm assuming availability is imminent for those retailers who've yet to receive stock. Now, if my boards will ship soon (if they haven't already).

I think I may go through etech. I've never heard of them, but they check out through the BBB. Their status was updated very early saturday morning, so I'm assuming the rumors of friday shipments were correct and they just go theirs in late. I'll let you guys know how it goes!

EDIT : ***Well when you got order it, they notify you they've sold out. Also they state that the quanity listed is that of their distributor/warehouse. The problem is other retailers may deal with those warehouses. So even if they have acces to 97, so may a kabillion other sites.....blah.

too busy playing oblivion and company of heroes than searching for so-called "confirmed" info

I do want to keep following up with this boards progress though for my 2nd build later this year.

Well, Im also just chilling on the pc since anandtech has not been updated since friday lol and toms either boooo

Im starting to feel tire.... g2g my friends

OMG: I just note this, check how many posts I have 😛

Well, I ordered also. I called the number on Tech Depot and got one of their Sales people. I had him look up this item to confirm it was in stock and he confirmed it. Because of the time (after 4 ) it would not be processed until Monday. I will also let everyone know on Monday if it is shipped.

The confirming email address is from "Computers4SURE" - This seems strange.

At 5:30am I received an email telling me that my order was on Back order and that they would keep me updated every week. This goes to show that if it sounds to good to be true, if probably is.

Same here....looks like I'll be calling and canceling my order today.

Guys, I dont want to be negative but that happens when you act too fast.

Anyways I dont want to make you feel bad because at least you are helping us know that most retailers dont even have there boards... when they say they do

Well....nothing happened. I ordered it...they lied...I cancelled my order...all is well. I'll do it again with the next place that says they have it too.....it doesnt matter that we acted fast....we lost nothing.

What do this board and duke nukem forever have in common? They are both myths. Move on to something else because it's fairly obvious that this thing has had some serious development issues. It will probably be a lemon even IF it does get released pre-c55. Wait for c55 or you'll regret it...

Oh well...

By the way I need some help now...

In Toms main page, they have an article where they say Nvidia To Ship DX 10 card in mid november, well I was thinking to get a 7900 GS with HDCP for my rig but it costs about $220 so... I said why should I spend so much on a videocard when DX10 will be here in a month? So I decided to go for a slower videocard, 7600GT are good ones but still $150 is too much for me to spend now when I know I will spend more then $250 on a G80. So I decided to go for the eVGA 7300 GS w/ 256Mb DDR2. Dont complain, the card is $60 I can survive with that until G80 comes out and then spend $250 :)

What do you guys think about this?

thats the smart thing to do, im gonna sell my current 7800gtx and buy the 8800 when it comes out, mostly because of the dx10 and all of this new architecture and physics and vista and god knows what else.

oh and just in case you havent seen the new 8800gt/gtx heres a link to it that i put on another forum, its not in english but the pictures are there

huh lol?

I said that here in Toms forums is already posted, weird that people is saying that the Ultra version will use water cooling only, why? they might be having overheating problems with normal air cooling on 8800 utlras?

I really like the GT version because I dont have and I dont know how to use water cooling, but if I get the 8800GT if someday i want SLI, then Ill have to buy another PSU with more PCI-E power connectors, Gosh, I just hope this is not the netburst period of nvidia.

Well ZZf and excaliberpc have no eta now. Nothing. Wow this is dissappointing on a huge scale. I called asus pre-sales and the guy had no information, absolutely nothing. I called David Ray from marketing, who was mentioned on this board, but had to leave a message.

So it went from every fri/mon for the last 3 weeks to no date. 8O
