You know what...bottom line is there will always be something just on the horizon that is bigger and better. One the 680i comes out...then in 2 months we will see the Quad cores......then two months later...better GPU's....

It has to end somewhere and you have to eventually put the trigger or you'll be waiting forever.

I think I've waited long enough...I've got all my other components...now I need the P5n32-SLI Premium before my "new" components become obsolete.

If the 680i is THAT much better...then I'll just buy it later on.

..except by mid november the new nvidia cards will be out, so this time nVidia will be pushing to get the new sli mobos out or they will be dead in the water like AMD are now.

It make a lot of sense to wait for the net gen GPU's next month and not buy a top-end video card now. Current cards don't have DX10 support or HDCP. Both will be a real limiting factor if you plan to upgrade to vista ever. No HDCP = no DRM = vista no worky with your video media.

Thats why I recommend any GF 7900 Series with the HDCP sign.

Ill wait for the 680i thats it. No matter what, I know nVidia is gonna release it on mid-end november thats it 😀

Do you guys really mean "HDCP"? I ask because I just ordered an Asus 79050GX2 and it states that is supports HDCP although I understand that it doesn't support DX10.

How come you spent that amount of money when G80 is coming in a month?
Anyways, any 7900GS card and up support HDCP and is VERY recommended (is only $10 extra) but not even the 7950 GX2 supports DX10, only cards from the G80 series...

hehe...I wish you the best of luck with that....but you know...once the 680i comes out...you'll only be a couple of months away from the new GPU's.....then if you wait for them....you'll only be a couple of months away from [insert component here]

It's a neverending cycle.....and I just dont have the patience for it anymore...

It's funny...in a way I wish I had your patience...and in a way I dont 😉

Seriously though...Good Luck!

I didn't know about the G80 when I ordered it. I was thinking of returning it since I am still waiting for the Asus C19 mobo to ship which I also know is going absolete with the C55 but I think I will just deal with both and upgrade down the road since it seems like most releases get delayed anyway. If for some reason, the C55 ships before the C19 ships, I will obviously get that instead.

Look most ETAS have been delayed... so why buy C19?

now for larsbeach, I have two things to tell, either you return the card and wait for DX10 which most people is doing... or you enjoy your GX2 card because most games will not use DX10 until mid 2007.

But still, for good perfomance for vista, dx10 is recommended 😀

Dude the new GPUs are out mid Nov. Thats like 6 weeks away. Maybe even before the new mobo is out.

Also, I plan to get a G80, I dont have any videocard yet in my hands and the only thing I have is my Core 2 Duo E6600 which as you know is one of the three that comes with 4mb cache so this cpu wont become obsolete in at least 2 years, by the time the mobo is out, the videocards will be out too so Im not wasting time, money neither :)

Dude you should cancel your 7950 order or get a refund if you've already got it. you'll be kicking yourself next month when the new nVidia 8800 comes out otherwise.

You guys keep saying "kicking ourselves" over these G80's. First off the tentative release date is sometime next month. Until you have a product page with phots and specifications and a concrete date, you have nothing. Secondly they are DX10 cards obviously. I'll be happy for you if you get one next month, and then you can pick up your copy of Vista.....OH yeah! that's right...vista isn't out yet..so game developers aren't releasing new games for dx10 yet. So the DX10 cards will have no effect now.

in addition, just buy a evga card. They have their 90-day upgrade program. So buy what you want now, then pay the difference when the G80's come out, assuming they will soon.

Also if anyone here still cares (since this has turned into a 590 bashing board) ZZF has a NEW eta...#$%@#...10/11......

Oh and are there any webmasters out there who want to make a website called SEND PRKCHPSNDWICHES TO TAIWAN! ....I want to visit Asus headquarters, soI can bitch slap everyone involved with this board. 😉

WEll those are great news we thought C55 would only reach maybe 450Mhz FSB but is over 500mhz! Thx nvidia :)

Now if all this is true then it means we will have nForce 580 and nForce 650 well a high end and low end versions :) of course ill go for the 680 😀

I just hope DFI is not like ASUS which just lie and lie

Actually, NF680I SLI and NF650I SLI are product names for DFI products. Not for nVidia chipsets.

Thanks Prkchpsndwiches....now I don't have to type all that. You couldnt be more right.

I could not possibly agree with you more. I'll have the Asus P5N32-SLI Premium and a cheap graphics card now, and then replace them both later once the new nVidia chipset and the DirectX 10 graphics cards are available. I seriously thought some people might have learned an important lesson from this whole deal (I sure did): a product isn't "released" until it's in your hands. I'm not trusting any more product "release dates" for a long while. So, I'll be happy that I've got at least something to play with until "betterness" approaches. I hope to get updated information on the P5N32-SLI Premium tomorrow.

I said is out of my mind now because everything started good but now is just some simply motherboard which I never knew or expected. Is just half what I expected.

It never existed, what I mean by this is that even when retailers announced it and everything, everything was good until let me see, page 25? then we got the DFI announcement that they were not making this board and the C55 release in a month announcement and then everything new that just came.

Why do I keep posting in here? because we are talking about the NVIDIA nforce chipset which includes C55 that became nForce 680i yesterday.

First off, please read over what you write before you click submit. I understand people make spelling/grammar errors all the time, myself included, but come on.

"I said is out of my mind now because everything started good but now is just some simply motherboard which I never knew or expected. Is just half what I expected."

I got the gist of that sentence after about the third read through. Also the only "half" of what you expected is the FSB. Yeah, yeah I know about c55, other than that, there will be no other changes. So it is more than half of what you expected.

"Why do I keep posting in here? because we are talking about the NVIDIA nforce chipset which includes C55 that became nForce 680i yesterday.[/quote"

Thanks for making my point for me. This isn't the 680i board. This is the 590 board. Hence the 590 thread. You made this thread to provide information on obtaining a 590 board. All you do now is come here telling everyone how you are so uber patient and how you're not getting the 590 board. We get the point. I have a 4 year old computer, and I've saved enough money to buy a pretty nice rig. I'm ready for a change. I don't plan on making any crazy overclocking adjustments at the moment. I make enough money fortunately that if i want to upgrade my board in the further I'll be able to do so.

So from now on make posts about the 590's avalibility, or new information regarding the board. I don't care how inferior C19 is, I've heard enough of the same thing.

Dude, calm down, if I make grammar mistakes is because im not american, I wasnt born in the US and english is not my first language. Sorry if im not as perfect as you expected.

Now, the last pages and posts have been about the C55, im not the only one talking about it so why you come and talk to me like if im the only one going offtopic...

go ahead and make another topic to talk about what you want, I dont force people to talk what I want to talk about, there are Ram, videocards, psu's posts in here and I had to just keep going with what I started...

You're the only one who continues to talk about it though. Just stop touting yourself as the uber patient c55 guy and let this thread get back to business.

I'm done with this subject.
