If anyone hears anything more about the release of the P5N32-SLI Premium....please post.

Last I heard we "may" see it show up in stores tomorrow (doubt it), and wouldn't ya know it....tomorrow is the one day this week when I wont have access to a PC for most of the day....*sigh*.

Good Hunting!!

You guys keep saying "kicking ourselves" over these G80's. First off the tentative release date is sometime next month. Until you have a product page with phots and specifications and a concrete date, you have nothing. Secondly they are DX10 cards obviously. I'll be happy for you if you get one next month, and then you can pick up your copy of Vista.....OH yeah! that's right...vista isn't out yet..so game developers aren't releasing new games for dx10 yet. So the DX10 cards will have no effect now.

in addition, just buy a evga card. They have their 90-day upgrade program. So buy what you want now, then pay the difference when the G80's come out, assuming they will soon.

Also if anyone here still cares (since this has turned into a 590 bashing board) ZZF has a NEW eta...#$%@#...10/11......

Oh and are there any webmasters out there who want to make a website called SEND PRKCHPSNDWICHES TO TAIWAN! ....I want to visit Asus headquarters, soI can bitch slap everyone involved with this board. 😉

>> OH yeah! that's right...vista isn't out yet..so game developers aren't releasing new games for dx10 yet.

errr. what are you talking about? I'm running vista right now. well.. I was until I decided it really was crap and went back to XP.

Just incase you also wanna run vista today go here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx

Its a downloadable version of Vista that times out mid-next year. Its RC1 (Release candidate 1), which means its almost the final product.

I'm also a software developer so I get access to MSDN through work. Vista (as longhorn) has been available to developers for well over year now. Thats how we can write and test DX10 stuff that come out at the same time vista does. Did you really think the industry has to wait too?

And yeah... you will be kicking yourself if you buy a top-end GPU now as it only runs DX9. Even for DX9 games, the new cards will have much better performance.

As for the concrete date... nVidia have already announced mid Nov.

Anandtech has now more than 3 articles about the G80. It would be good for all of you to read it before you make any decisions... now.

By the way, does anybody know when the "always-wanted" Premium board is gonna be released? Most sites announced it on the 4.. :S kinda confused now. Why would they keep delaying it?

For me it comes down to a few questions (I too have been waiting on the ASUS Premium board)

Will I be able to upgrade to Quad Core down the road...No 1

A friend gave me 2 7900's with 512 meg in each, so yeah...it does make sense to go Sli now.

I bought the case, power supply, 2 sata 3 hard drives and plan on buying the core 2 duo e6600 2.4ghz.

I really would like to make sure what ever motherboard I get can handle a upgrade CPU wise.

Thanks!

Like I said, If you want a stable board and since you are gonna run SLI, the best board on the market is the P5N32-SLI Premium

...But

That board will NOT support Kentsfield. So if someday you would like to upgrade to a quad-core processor, you wont be able to do so with that board. One important reason to wait for C55, but hey, like many people say and is doing, if you dont really need kentsfield and you are not an overclocker, get the Premium board and dont let your stuff become obsolete!

PD: BTW can you tell your friend to give me 2 700's? I really need some too 😀

LOL, He gave me those because his boss had just given him 2 7950's! LOL

Goes to show ya how much money them Oil Companies are taking us for!! $500 a bottle Scotch and $1200 video cards!! LOL

I'm not sure what happened with our distributor's Chicago shipment, but now they're expecting to receive a shipment to the New Jersey warehouse first. They are indicating several shipments are "in transit" to various warehouses with current ETAs of 10/7 and 10/10. I'll be overnighting my boards from whichever warehouse receives them first. So, whatever. We'll see...

oh sigh....

I knew someone was going to come along and say that. yes you can get Vista in beta now, but are game developers going to release games based on a beta OS???????

Oh and did you even read my post? I'll speak louder. EVGA HAS A 90 DAY STEP UP PROGRAM. I BUY A NICE CARD NOW THEN PAY THE DIFFERENCE WHEN DX10 CARDS COMES OUT.

Nvidia also had a concrete date on this board. Nothing is safe.

Right now, I have a new chassis, power supply, two SATA drives, 6600 CPU, DVD burner, and an ASUS 7950GTX video card sitting in a corner of my room. All I need is a mobo (P5N32-SLI Premium) and memory and I am ready to go. I have until the end of the month to return the video card if I want but haven't decided if I want to wait for the new C55 mobos and DX10 video cards or not.

I want to be able to upgrade my monitor to the Dell 30" at some point (requires dual link DVI) and possibly start playing flight simulator games again but don't want to bother with overclocking. On the one hand, it would be nice not to have to upgrade a $600 video card for awhile to play the latest flight sim games or watch videos (any other things DX10 will give over DX9?) and it would definitely be nice not to have to upgrade my mobo to get quad core CPU support (don’t want to hassle with reinstalling OS and software if I switch mobos). On the other hand, I am wondering when I could realistically have these boards in my hand knowing that historically technology usually comes out later than projected (at least in quantity). I could get an eVGA card but a quick price check suggests to me that they charge a lot more and the card has to be in "sellable condition" in order to upgrade it. Am I missing any other value in waiting for the C55 and DX10 boards?

In short, I am not sure what I am going to do but I figure I have a few weeks to decide and also see what happens with the P5N32-SLI Premium.

It may be helpful to everyone for someone to list the known pros and cons for both the C55 mobos and DX10 video cards over the C19 and DX9 boards so that everyone is aware of all of the pros and cons and which ones are important to them - just a thought...

Thanks for the update - It really make you wonder what is really going on.

LOL...I'm getting so frustrated it's getting funny!! LOL
Oh well...I could whine all day and night and it wouldn't change a thing soI might as well laugh it off!!
Maybe I'll wait for the Asus extra super duper Premium deluxe model!! LOL By then my great grand kids could build it for me!! LOL

Will this mobo be compatable with the QX6700? (ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI Intel Edition)

If so I'll return my E6700 and wait on the QX6700 to come out.

Waited all this time for the mobo might as well wait for the new CPU as well.

Will be using 3ds Max and Maya so it will help me.

*sigh*

If you have $1000 saved on your pocket, then do it. The QX6700 is sometimes 3% faster than the X6800 but with the time the QX6700 will kick its ass.

Page 4, Intel zipped up the FSB speed for the Core 2 Quadro to 333 MHz compared with the 266 MHz for Core 2 Duo.

nForce 590 with C19 wont go higher than 300mhz FSB so... they mess up the article I think

OK, thanks for the clarification...

LOL, Man... I was really hoping to log on today and see a post that said...
I got it...It came today!! Or
I ordered it...it was in stock today!!

Something like that!! LOL

Hey Slim?? Do we know for sure if this Asus Premium Board has the C19 or not?? If we don't know, how long after it comes out will we know?

I think the DELAY is a good sign.
I feel that Asus is replacing the C19 with the C55 to make everyone happy and make themselfs look god in the users eye.

But thats just what I think, not proven if its right or not, we'll soon know in the next year. hehe

Also making that mobo quad-core compatable would be a mega boost for sales of it as well.
