Sadly, I don't have everthing yet, but here's what I have (or plan to have)..
* Indicates I don't have it yet, mostly I waiting to see what deals I can get come the 25th. 8)

Motherboard: eVGA 680i
CPU: e6600*
Memory: To be decided(Probably 2GB Corsair ddr2-800)*
HDD: To be decided(250Gb Sata)*
HSF: Zalman 9500 LED
Video Card: eVGA 7950gt KO (in 3 months the 8800gts 😀 )
Sound card: Onboard
Case: Gigabyte GZ-FA1CA-ASB
Optical Drive: NEC 16X DVD±R DVD Burner
PSU: Ultra Xfinity 600watts (SLi ready)

I think that covers everything.. Hope that helps. :)

Looks like you're right!! Cheatin bastard!! LOL I doubt very much that I'll end up with a striker board anyway. But it should be kewl next week, seeing what other makers come out with! And with that lifetime warranty, I'll probably still end up with the EVGA board! LOL

People! Im so happy I have to scream it!!!

I just bought my power supply and videocard! finally!

Ultra ULT33120 X-Finity 2G 600W Power Supply (Titanium) Retail ***Free Shipping***

eVGA e-GeForce 7900 GS PCI Express 256MB GDDR3 Video Card w/Dual DVI-I and HDTV Retail ***Free Shipping***

Hopefully they will arrive here wednesday november 15, how ironic, this is the day were most e-retail stores will have the striker extreme available.

Well, it looks like I'll be replacing my Intel X6800 and Asus P5N32-SLI Premium with an Intel QX6700 and an Asus Striker Extreme. Then, I'll add two NVIDIA 8800GTX cards. Sounds good to me. Although, it should be noted that my current system is now running wonderfully without any problems (without overclocking).

One question though... is the Intel QX6700 the first quad-core model from Intel? And, is it going to be the highest model in the Kentsfield series, or will there be a higher model released within the near future? Thanks for the info.

As far as I know YES it is the first quad-core processor ever released until now and the all the reviews were made with its engineering samples.

Right now this is and will be the best quad-core for the time because there is going to be another quad-core that is going to be released in H1 2007 but is going to be Core 2 Quad Q6600 (non-extreme) which will be clocked at 2.4Ghz.

Hopefully that answers your question.

More Quad cores are coming in January of 2007. Feel free to send me that X6800 you won't be using anymore!! It will just clutter up your computer area! LOL

I got the 2-day shipping on m board and the normal 2-3 day ground from newegg. The card was ordered the day before the board, so it worked out perfectly. Both arrived on my day off. :)

why in hell are gonna buy two of them?? I mean whats the point? f.e.a.r will run @ 400 fps instead of 300 @ 1280x1024 or whatever?
Or do you think that all dx10 games are coming out tomorrow? It would take at least another year for games with full dx10 support except a handful (ie crisis) that will come out a little sooner.

Hey....some people have the money to do those things! What's the big deal?? It will still run earlier games. Get off his back!!

OK...now back to the x6800 you won't be needing anymore....

LOL, kidding... let us know what you do and how it comes out!!

I'm getting two 8800GTX cards because I'm REALLY looking forward to playing Crysis (and others eventually) at 1920x1200, and maybe higher, with insane framerates. Plus, the cards will look awesome, eh?

And, thanks for the info on the quad-core CPUs. I just don't want to purchase the QX6700 and then have a slightly faster model be released within a very short amount of time. Hopefully Asus will be a little faster releasing this board than certain previous models. Fortunately, I've got my system running this time, so I'm not nearly as impatient.

I know this is off topic (again), but is there really a significant difference between the various brands of 8800GTX cards? Say, between the ASUS and the eVGA, for example?

Um, not sure if I was the one you were thinking of that was getting two video cards.. I just got the eVGA 7950gt KO, and in about three months will use their step-up program to get a slightly cheaper 8800gts card. Two would be overkill, with the exception of Oblivion, in which a single 8800gtx could not reach 40fps. So if you really want those extra frames.. But I don't think it's neccessary. Also, this is just the first wave of cards. There might be something under the table that will blow away the gtx, who knows? Anyway, I read somewhere though, that these new 8k series are power hungry and quite possibly sooner than later, a new video card with more power, but more energy efficient will come out. I've read some reviews that cautioned buyers to skip this generation and wait for the next. But my computer is going to be good enough to last a good number of years, so I'm fine with buying one. Plus, think of it this way.. DX9 has been out for what? 4 years? And within this year, video cards have really been pushed to their performance max with games like F.E.A.R., Doom 3, Quake 4, Oblivion, etc. If the same trend follows, I'm thinking I might need a new video card in about 3 years. Not too shabby..

And to you CloakedHunter.. no, there is no visible difference between the cards. When compared on newegg, they all share the same stats. I believe nVidia wanted things to be very tight knit and remain the same, i.e. no KO versions or XT. But like I said before, maybe in a month or two there will be a second wave of cards and start to become more competitive again between manufacturers.

Honestly, I will never buy any eVGA components again. They have been very unreliable and had terrible support for too many years. The step up program sounds nice.. but they have got to prove that they are no longer cheapo crap hardware company.

Their video cards (Used to sell them back in the TNT2 - geforce days) have had failing fans, poor quality video, and generally very short lifespan. Too many non-functional cards right from the box.

I really hope they are good now because they are cheap and their products are starting to look really pretty now.. but they really have got to work hard on their reputation for people like me who have been burned by them in the past.

Well in the past I have never had Geforces or Radeons because I didnt really need them before. Now, Im using right now on this pc a 6600 and is perfect for basic stuff.

Well I hope my 7900Gs which is coming give me good results

Abit has released their version of the board. Hoping a few more do this week!! The more that are out there the more prices should be driven down! I hope!!
